Hi Guys,
I haven't posted on here before so bear with me and thanks in advance for any help. I Love my fitbit blaze, I never take it off apart from showers and particularly rainy days, when I know I'm going to be outside. I take great care in not getting it wet. I use the Fitbit and myfitnesspal app, in tandem, it's very effective for me and makes it easy to track my calorie intake and burn. I have had the watch since last April, with no problems. About a week ago, my Fitbit app started recording that I was burning a massive amount of calories? About 2000 more than usual! After an initial panic, It didn't take me long to find the cause, the heart rate has suddenly become wildly inaccurate. I know my resting heart rate is around 55-58 and it has been for a while. In the last week, my blaze has been recording it at 102-113? I tested it against a machine at the gym, whilst doing abit of light cardio, the gym machine recorded me at 120. My fitbit had me at 235, this isn't your usual slight inaccuracy. Sometimes it just doesn't register a reading at all and then picks up again, sometime later. I know alot of people on here have said there fitbits are sligtly out sometimes, but I don't think this is the case here. Mine has always been fairly accurate and with the sudden nature of the fault, I'm guessing it might be either a software glitch or maybe even a hardware fault. I have alreay tried a reset and what not, with no difference. Any help would be appreciated guys, it's throwing my whole system out of whack :/.
Thanks

For the past week mine has had issues randomly not tracking sleep, so I think there could be a software glitch overall that may need an update.

My Blaze has been extremely inaccurate lately. This morning it registered 17 active minutes and 3 floors but zero steps. The kicker is I was not wearing the device. It was on my night stand from the night before. It has also been registering extra steps, which I think those come out in the wash eventually.
I am not really sure how to get this resolved.

Hi there guys @Doxie2Doxie @Simonisbeefy @duhawkin! Great to see you in the Fitbit Community! 🙂
@SimonisbeefyIt does sound really weird that your tracker is registering your heart rate that high and of course, this will lead to register more calories burned. I would suggest just for curiosity, to check your personal settings in the app. All the readings are based on the personal settings you provide when you first create your account so it could be that for some reason or by accident these values were changed, so just to be safe, take a look and see if it's all correct. I can also recommend setting up your tracker as a new device after restarting it. To restart it, you can easily do this by pressing the left and lower right buttons for 10-12 seconds. This will make your tracker to reboot.
Then, to set up your tracker as a new device, go to the Account section at the bottom right corner on the Fitbit app and select the option that says "Set up a new device". Follow the on-screen instructions and once you're done, your tracker should be syncing without a problem.
@duhawkin, I was able to address your inquiry on your other post so whenever you have time, check it out and let me know how it goes.
@Doxie2Doxie, that does sound very strange. I think that restarting your tracker could help. For that, follow the instructions I gave @Simonisbeefy above and let me know if there's any difference.
Hope this helps and if any of you need more help, let me know. I'll be happy to help!
