Fitbit blaze unresponsive

My Fitbit blaze screen turned off shortly after I spilled soda down my arm and then rinsed my entire arm and blaze in the sink for about 60 seconds. I tried the hard reset, and tried charging it thinking it was dead, nothing happened. I contacted support and they were very unhelpful. Why would I buy a new Fitbit when this happens after a year and a half of owning it?! I’m wondering what caused this to happen- I thought they were supposed to be water resistant! Is it my fault or is this going to happen again for no reason if I buy a new one!?

Unfortunately, the Blaze is not waterproof. See: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1598

What some people do is to put the fitbit in a sealed bag with some dry rice for a day or two (the rice draws out any remaining moisture) before charging again. Unfortunately, charging the fitbit while it was probably still wet inside will not have helped.

The rice trick has worked for others but if it doesn't work for you then I think it's dead.
