Fitbit recording steps while driving

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have been back driving wagons this week and noticed my Blaze is adding around 250-300 steps per hour whilst driving. I’m Driving between 4-6 hours per day so this is really messing up my step count. Can this be sorted? Or is this something that others have had issues with?

Kind Regards

Hi there @Frankiebird. Great to see you in the Community Forums! 🙂

I can help you with this. Our engineers have worked diligently on your tracker's algorithms to make sure that it does not pick up false steps or activity recordings while in a car. Unless you are driving in a car with a stiff transmission or on back country roads, your tracker should not give you credit for any work that you don't do.

If you do pick up some steps while driving, you can try the following to delete that data:

  1. Log into your fitbit.com dashboard.
  2. At the top of the screen click Log.
  3. Click the Activities tab.
  4. Under Log Activities, type in Driving and enter the date, duration, and start time.
  5. Click Log. Your steps, floors, and calories burned will decrease for the time period you specified.

Hope this helps. Anything else, I'm here to help!
