Floor Count Way Off

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

For the last several weeks, my Blaze records me as having climbed over 100 plus floors a day, sometimes close to 200...not sure what's going on and haven't made the time to contact customer service yet. I'm pretty active but definitely not climbing anywhere close to that amount of floors, lol! Just did a re-set hoping it will resolve the problem. Has anyone else experienced this?

Has it been windy where you're at lately?  Sounds like an odd question I know, but I have found on when I walk on windy days, my floor count is way off.  I believe this is due to the floors being counted via changes in barometric pressure.

A warm welcome to the Forums @Jen0312, thanks for troubleshooting this inconvenience by yourself and @Eagle1 thanks for stopping by.

Keep in mind that your Blaze may give you credit for extra floors for a variety of reasons. Occasionally your tracker may detect pressure changes unrelated to elevation gains, such as a gust of wind, weather change, or opening a door.

Exposure to excess moisture can also result in extra floors being counted. This happens if the pathway to the altimeter on the back of your tracker becomes temporarily blocked with sweat or water. in this case, I recommend wearing your tracker loosely during exercise.

I hope this helps, let me know the outcome. Woman Happy

Floor count has been really high the last couple of days.I have reset it and have restarted it a few times to no avail. This all started a couple of days when I updated a new mobile application on my Iphone.

Hmm...I do sweat a lot when I work out. It's a little before 1:30 and already at 115 floors.

Would suggest a look at the app. I've been sitting at my desk all day, I may have done 4 floors (all indoors) all day. And the Fitbit reads 45 floors. Seems like a few people are reporting this lately if you search on the forums

I have been getting floor counts as high as 314 in a day for the last couple of weeks. Might be related to an update that I applied a couple of weeks ago. Is there a way to clean the altitude sensor to ensure that is not the problem? This problem occurs almost every day so it is not wind-related.

Also, my wife has a Blaze and she does not have a problem with floor count so it does not appear to be a weather-related problem.
