Just some FYI for anyone who is trying to figure out how to setup the Blaze on an older laptop with no bluetooth capabilities. I just got mine this morning and found that the Fitbit Connect software just hangs at 'connect a dongle' which I don't have because it didn't come with one. I called Customer Service:
Per customer service, the cable that came with the Blaze was intended to be a charging AND syncing cable, thus negating the need for the dongle. However, the Fitbit Connect software is not allowing it. Customer service will ship you a dongle to remedy this until they get the glitch resolved. The number is (877) 623-4997 and they are very helpful.

I encountered this issue when I got my Fitbit Blaze... After working with Customer Support they did what you stated and ordered me at no cost a Dongle... The only problem is they are on back order and it appears it could be 6 to 8 weeks until they are shipped.
In my case my wife owns a Fitbit ChargeHR and thus had a dongle for her computer. I was able to borrow the dongle and get the software installed and then do the update today. But I am hoping that they will update the installation setup software in the next release.

It is simply not ok and so not thought through.
I live in Denmark, and it will take ages for us to get it, and I cant call 0800 numbers. So what do we do. Lot of hazzle and so not ok.

@mereterosenberg as pointed out above, the contact page gives contact info based on the users registered location.. Their also is a live chat over Internet option, no phone needed.

Also as an alternative you can try to set up your Blaze with a compatible mobile device and continue syncing with your computer once you receive your Dongle.
