GPS for bicycling activity

Well, this is real interesting! Went to the YMCA today and rode the stationery bike. Naturally, before I start pumping, I went to "exercise" and turned on bicycling. As the bike stayed in one spot, this little screenshot from my Fitbit site I checked when I got home should show up as a dot, since the bike remained in one spot.

GPS?!?GPS?!?

Here's the kicker ... After getting up off the bike I went outside to do some stair climbing on their steps and them remembered my "bicycle" was still active, so I turned it off.  So the image above is a GPS screenshot of where the bike was and my trek through the YMCA to the stairs in front? That's pretty cool. I didn't know the Blaze had a GPS on it, did you? Is this a free upgrade from Fitbit?

It's great to see you around @SunsetRunner, thanks for the screenshot.

Regarding to your GPS question, yes, the Blaze have the GPS connected feature. This isn't an upgrade since the Blaze already comes with it. To have more information about how this works, I recommend taking a look at the Does my Fitbit device have GPS? article.

See you later. Woman Wink

One thought about when on a stationary bike, I would use the spooning mode.. This is the same as bike mode but with the gps turned off.

Thanks Alejandra - so, if I leave me phone at home, it won't show me a GPS.  Thanks... maybe I should try doing a LONG walk in the country this weekend WITH my phone to see if it tracks it.  That would be nice to see!!

Have a nice week,

Mark

You are welcome @SunsetRunner, I am glad to see that your inquiry has been answered. As you mentioned, the GPS connected won't work if you don't have your phone with you but I agree in the part of the big walk to try it out.

Keep the stepping up! Woman Very Happy
