Sleep information while not wearing the Blaze

Hi all,

I want to know if this has happened to anyone else; I usually wear my Fitbit everywhere, but one night I went out on the town and decided to leave it at home on my bedside desk as it didn’t really match with my dress. I came home at 6am but didn’t put the watch back on until probably midday. When I went to sync it to my phone, my Blaze has created sleeping data for me - apparently I had been sleeping from 11 that night to 8am the next morning. Complete with sleep patterns and heart rate data, I had woken up 6 times apparently and dithered between deep and light sleep!

This obviously can’t  be correct as I wasn’t even wearing the watch. Now I don’t trust my Fitbit for correct data. Is it making up data all the time?

Hi, @TotWells124, I have had the Blaze since it first came out.  My experience is that what you describe does happen occasionally, but not often.  I would say that generally speaking it is pretty accurate, including with sleep info.

You should be able to minimise this happening if you set your heartrate to "auto" rather than to "on". On auto it stops trying to detect a heartrate after a moment or two of inactivity, and the lights will stop blinking (this will also save battery).

One way that you are very likely to get inaccurate results is if your Blaze is left to rest near a vibration source which can fool it into thinking it is being worn.  So if it is left next to a fan, a dehumidifier, etc -- even on top of the computer cpu -- you are likely to get inaccurate data.

A warm welcome to the Community @TotWells124 and @Julia_G thanks for stopping by.

This has happened to me too while I charge my Blaze but as our friend mentioned, this is something weird to happen. As recommended if you have the heart rate option in "On", you should put it in "Auto" to avoid this. Also, keep in mind that you can always delete the sleep information by doing the following from your Fitbit app:

  1. Tap the sleep tile
  2. Tap the sleep information you want to delete
  3. Tap the 3 dots icon
  4. Tap Delete Log

If you need anything else, post it! Woman Wink
