HTC One M8 cannot receive text notifications.

I have tried everything. Different text messaging apps, no change. Preview message is on, nothing. I don't ever get a notification when my phone receives a text and cannot figure out why.  I receive incoming call notifications just fine, displays their name and everything.  What am I missing here?

Do you have Android 5.0 or higher? It is required for notifications.

If you are having problems with your notifications, I recommend following @MarreFitbit's instructions in the My tracker isn't receiving notifications (Android Fitbit app) post. Also, check the How do I update my Android Fitbit app? post to verify if your Android Fitbit app is updated.
