(Heart Rate) Accuract + Fitbit blaze - user experience 2017

Hi guys,

It's been a while since Fitbit Blaze is out and I was wondering what youre experience is with this device.

A while ago I purchased Fitbit Charge 2, however I wasn't very happy with it since the heart rate accuracy was way off (compared it to watch with chestwrap). While it can be expected that a chestwrap is more accurate than the optic sensor, the difference between the watches was just simply too much.

I'm doing a lot of weight lifting at the gym and 2 times a week HIIT (interval training), I was wondering whether Fitbit Blaze would be a good choice. Mostly the calorie count is important.

Are there significant differences between the blaze and other previous models?

Optical HRMs - be they from Fitbit, Apple, etc will *all* have problems recording heart rate during weight training - especially on more intense sessions.

Similar with HIIT - if you're running it may not be too bad, but if you're rowing or skiing (ie. C2 Rower or Ski Erg), optical monitors just cannot be accurate.  Its a basic fact of what they're using to monitor heart rate (even Apple admit to that if you dig deep enough on their pages).

My Blaze (and the Charge HR before it) are useless when rowing, skiing or doing weights.  But its fairly accurate when running (which I'm currently doing way more of!)
