Heart rate tracking accuracy during workout

Hi All,

I have been using Fibit since 2016.  Since 2016 I was diagnosed with HBP and taking medication to control it.  I am in my mid 40's, but the HBP is due to family history.  Anyways, just a back ground for my question.

Love Fitbit and have helped me lost 25 lbs (in 2017 I was ruining an average of 10 minutes per mile and logging 18 miles per week).  I love running and the past two years I have been on/off track and have gained 15 lbs back.

I am starting again and I been running most on treadmill do to weather (I am not physical there yet to run outside in the 45f) and been ruining 3 - 4 times per week on average of 3.5 miles per workout.

My Fibit Blace is two years now, and lately my HR jump so quickly while on treadmill.  Due to my HBP, I would like to stay in my max of 80%, but for example my HR is at 135 and in 40 seconds is at 162.  How is that possible?  I am tired of looking at my watch every minute and stopping and going.

I am frustrated as is messing up my ruining concentration.   Any idea?

Hi @Paco20, welcome to the Community Forums! My sincere apologies for the delay in responding your post.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for all the details that were shared in your post, seems odd that your Blaze is tracking your heart rate data in such way. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know when was the first time you experienced this issue and how many times since then? Do you experience this inconvenience only when you're using the treadmill or performing an exercise or with your daily tracking too? With which activities you experienced this accuracy concern?

As with all heart-rate tracking technology, accuracy is affected by personal physiology, device location on your arm, and type of movement. However, to improve the accuracy of your device, I suggest you to check the information that's specified on: How do I improve the accuracy of my heart-rate reading on my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes. You can also try restarting your Blaze to refresh its performance.

Keep me posted and let me know if you have any additional questions.
