Given how unobtrusive and lightweight my new Blaze is, I'd prefer not to remove it when I play the drum set. However, the app assumed I was riding my bike for some reason. Any chance you'd include an option, so I don't feel like I'm cheating on my step goals?

I really don't know what to classify it, but I've seen drummers that burn as much energy as some cyclists.

It's great to see you around @bendon. Actually, there's an option where you can create custom activities, you can do this by following these steps from a computer:
1. Go to http://www.fitbit.com/activities to see your activity log. Start typing in the search box under 'Log Activities".
2. Enter any physical activity you find yourself doing often.
3. After adding the activity, there will be the option to customize the activity via duration, distance (if applicable) start time and calories.
I hope this helps, let me know how it goes.

Hi, I was going to ask this too and just want to clarify:
I have a fit bit versa and I play a virtual reality boxing game which gives a serious work out (effectively it's shadow boxing), should I simply press workout on my Versa when I start playing and pretty much apply this principle to any other non specific sport/activity (table tennis etc)

Theoretically I think what we need for drumming is something that tracks heart rate but not steps. I’ve tested rowing, boxing, workout, yoga and Pilates with 1 hour 20 mins of activity with avg HR of 125BPM.
- rowing was off the charts
- Boxing (which in retrospect does count steps I guess) way overestimates at 999kcals
- Workout at 509kcals seems excessive
- yoga at 364kcals also seems excessive
- pilates seems reasonable at 262kcals
Hope that helps.
