How to increase Treadmill Run Accuracy?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have recently used Treadmill Run on the Blaze and have big difference in the distance. I have set my stride on auto. I have a doubt if I set my stride length to fix one it might impact other runs. I also don't want to change the accuracy during other runs (using GPS) & walks. What I can do to increase the accuracy? Any suggestion? Here is my two different data for reference ...

Blaze Data - 3.69 miles, 39:48 min410 cals

Treadmill Data - 2.84 miles, 40:00 mins, 311 cals

@DineshGautam, if you are using GPS during runs your stride length will not be used to calculate distance.

Stride length is only used if GPS is not available, so adjusting your stride length for the treadmill will not affect the accuracy of GPS runs (or walks using connected GPS ).

Also, you can separately set run and walk stride length, so changing it for treadmill runs will not affect the accuracy for walks, even if you don't use GPS.

If you believe the treadmill gave you more accurate distance data it sounds like your Fitbit stride length is too long and you should adjust it downwards.

If you feel that your recorded heartrate is reasonably accurate, then your Fitbit is probably giving you a better idea of calorie burn than the treadmill.  Your Fitbit has more data than the treadmill.

I hope this makes sense!

@DineshGautam multiply your stride setting by 0.769, as long as you don't change the speed of the treadmill you will be close.
