Incorrect bpm information

Just got my new Blaze for Christmas and really like it. However I did notice something a little odd today.

I pretty much have an idea what my BPM is for the most part but really like the immediate tracking the Blaze offers. I worked out this morning and I would intermittently check the bpm to see were I was. The Blaze showed me peaking at 129 bpm but I was staying around 115 bpm for the 68 min duration. No way that is accurate. Am I wearing the Blaze incorrectly should I have it loose, tight, is there something it needs to do to actually record?

The type of fitness I do is high intensity. Anaerobic, Cross fit, sprints. The last few times I tracked bpm it was showing me around 175-190 which I know what that feels like and today I was cresting that point. My resting bpm is around 42-45 so just trying to figure this out so I can get accurate tracking and monitor.

Thx in advance for thoughts and suggestions.
