I got charged for downloading Fitbit app on my iPhone. Isn't that suppose to be free?

I’ve had my Fitbit for over a year. When I went to the app today on my phone it said “This app is no longer shared with you. To use it you must go buy it from the App Store.
please advise.

Hi,
I had the same thing today. They are trying to push premium on us. I’m not going to pay $120 a year to use the basic features of my versa 2.
maybe we should get legal advice!

There is a notice about this at the top of the page. They are working on it but try reinstalling the app it says.

Hello, I’m new Fitbit versa 2 owner. When I down loaded app to iPhone screen said “processing payment”. I’ll look to see what amount if any was charged

My App is continually not working I went to download again and see I have been charged £9.99 a month for this. Surely that’s not correct

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, and your effort while working on this matter. Before anything else, let me clarify the Fitbit app is free to download on any compatible device, and you shouldn't be charged for using it. I'm sorry this wasn't the case and just to confirm, may I know if you installed the same app that appears in this link? If not, please install it so you can sync your details correctly.
Additionally, I'd suggest contacting Apple support team to help you with the charges made by the other app. Their contact information can be found here.
