I use a Blaze and the Apple app dashboard. I recently purchased an underdesk elliptical to help me stay more active during the day. How do I add those steps since I am usually typing with my hands while using the elliptical and the Blaze of course does not pick it up .

Hi, @breezer88, if you would like to have step credit for your elliptical workout then you will need to add it as a manual log. Instructions here. You should be aware that steps added manually will not count towards challenges or your friends' leaderboard.
Alternatively, if you use the elliptical for discrete exercise periods you could use the exercise shortcuts and the button on your Blaze to add a "workout". You may not get many steps credit, but you will get daily exercise credit and a record of your heartrate for the session (this is what I do with my yoga classes).
Finally, if your heartrate is sufficiently continuously raised during your elliptical sessions you may find that SmartTrack picks up your activity and logs it as an "aerobic workout". Again, you probably won't get a lot of steps, but you will get activity credit.
It really depends on what works best for you and what you are hoping to get out of it.

A warm welcome to the Community @breezer88 and @Julia_G thanks for stopping by.
The Blaze has an option for you have in your exercise workout elliptical (see attached image). To add this option to your exercises, you just need to do the following from a computer:
1. Click the gear icon
2. Click Blaze
3. Scroll down to exercise shortcuts
4. Click Edit
5. Select the one you prefer
6. Click Save
7. Sync
Just keep in mind that manually logging activities like "Walk" or "Run" you might be able to see some discrepancies in your information.
I hope this helps, let me know the outcome.
