Map details no longer showing

For the past few days I have not been able to see the map of where I have been on walk. I haven't (knowingly) changed any settings. What has gone wrong? I am using an iPhone.

I have now sorted out the issue, by simply turning off my phone and then restarting it. Thank you very much to the person who suggested this as a fix - it works!

You are not alone!

My GPS is no longer working either!

I am having the same problem.  As soon as my "GPS connected" walk ends (I press Finish in the app), I can see the map of my route, but when I browse all activity history, none of the maps are shown, not even latest.  I know for sure I used to have MANY maps shown in history, now NONE.  This seemed to happen after an update.  It's been a problem for at least a couple of weeks, maybe longer.  I have not seen a solution posted here...

Without knowing which method used in recording the event we eill be unable to help.

Since these posts are in the hardware forum then i will assume that the Charge 2 and yhe connected GPS was used.  Was the GPS connection on the Charge 2 confirmed? IE: no line through the phone icon.

Is fitbit notifacation services running?

Is the Fitbit app running?

Since at least half the problem could be on the phone, it would be nice to have this info also?

When GPS doesnt connect for me a simple restart of the phone fixes it everytime, unless for some reason the notifacation services where turned off.

Now if the mobile tracking on the app was used, then this is the wrong place to post and should be in the correct phone forum.

Oh, sorry.  I am fairly new to posting here.  I think the bottom line is with the fitbit app for Android, not the hardware.  I have seen this with both the Charge 2 and the Blaze.  In my case, I know GPS is connected and communication between watch and phone are fine because I DO see the map at the end of my walk.  What I am concerned about, and I will find the right forum to post this, is that in the past (before last couple of weeks or so), I could always review multiple days' walk maps.  However, now no maps show at all after I have left the current walk map.  I never delete them, but they are gone.

Thank you for pointing out that I need to comment in a non-hardware forum.  🙂   I actually thought I had gone back to the Community level and commented there, but clearly not.  😉

@debfahey im not concearned about where the post is, I'm more interested in  the details needed to determine where the problem is and if the tracker with the connected GPS was usedhttp://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1935

Or if the app and mobile run through the app was used  http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2099

This might be cause of no map for you.did at some point pause the app?

Currently with the mobile run and android phones if the pause function was used the map is lost. Fitbit is aware and looking into this.

The reason so many threads in forums, not just the ones on Fitbit, look like a game of 20 questions is that the person with the question is our investigator, we need to depend on the askee for the details in the case, not just the evidence that something didn't work.

Thanks, Rich_Laue. OK. I didn't know what "MobileRun" was, but after
reading your link, yes, I guess that is what I used. Neither my Charge 2
nor my Blaze have their own GPS. I used fitbit app for Android on LG V20
phone, and (on the phone) explicitly selected Track exercise, Walk; I
confirmed that GPS was engaged (location on map shown). Since I always
have a few long delays in my route (at the gym, at the grocery store), I
indeed PAUSE tracking at least two times. At the end of my walk, I hit
PAUSE (in the app) once more and then pressed Finish. I see the map just
fine, in its entirety and all Splits are shown. Once I close that screen
and go back to dashboard, all map info is lost. When I look at activity,
the walk is shown, steps, time and heart rate, but no pace, splits or map.

All software (Android and fitbit) up-to-date. I used Charge 2 for most of
the walks, Blaze for last 2. I have not yet tried to start, pause, and
stop tracking from the Blaze itself ... maybe today.

Thank you for the info about known problems with Pause. After your last
comment I did another search and found that. So, now I have a workaround.

Bottom line, I think there is no new info in my particular experience. I'm
glad the problem is known and is being worked on.

Thanks again.

I have a Blaze, and connect it to my iPhone iOS 10.3.1. When I go for a walk I use the exercise function on the Blaze - pressing start and then stop at the end. I am not doing anything differently to what I have been doing for months, but the map feature isn't showing up any more.

On the blaze there will be a phone icon that displays the status of the GPS please check this for confirmation when starting out again.

Thanks! I'm getting too old and since will be my first time for starting
tracking from the Blaze, I would probably have missed that. 😉

@maryharp Using the pause while using Exercise, Track (MobileRun) causes the missing maps and you may get a message saying that the Fitbit App has stopped.

If you didn't use pause there is another topic where the moderators want information.

This is the 2nd time I paused during a run and the 2nd time I didn't have a map remain on the system. Thanks for posting this!

I have been having the same issue. I often get the massage “check Fitbit app” on my Blaze when I begin a run and - somewhat less often but more frustrating - I finish a run (that appears to have been properly tracked by the units GPS) and find that it didn’t map my route.

I find the solution to turn off my phone and restart it very unsatisfactory. I already shut down and restart my iPhone on a monthly basis; I should not have to do this just to ensure that my GPS works. I’ve had a Fitbit in one form or another for several years but now I’m seriously considering chucking the whole thing and getting the Apple Watch. At this time I will NOT even consider upgrading to the Ionic.

I switched to a new iPhone 7 from my old iPhone 7. The tracker works, but the information and map do not show up on my dashboard (and only sometimes can I see it on my phone).

What I get in my activity feed on the dashboard is a series of random activities ranging from "sport" to "elliptical" that comprise the time I spent on my workout with a variety of time stamps that rarely match what I do on a day to day basis... I've been tracking activity with Fitbit for nearly a decade and am getting tired of the random glitches in the system...

Anybody been through what I described above? Rebooting has not helped...
