Music control buttons only control volume

I have a new phone (Mi Mix2 running Android 8.0.0), which is not on the list of compatible devices but works perfectly while syncing. I have just connected music control using Bluetooth Classic but I seem to have a strange issue; the two control buttons to control next/previous track only control the volume and do not change track. I even tried using the upper/lower button for volume controls but they control volume too. Does anyone have a fix for this please?

Hi there @aswinms. Great to see you in the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂

I'm sorry to hear that the control buttons on your Blaze display are only controlling the volume.

I'm not sure if this would have to do with the fact that your phone is not in the list of compatible devices but I would say this would be the main reason why at the moment.

For the devices that are not on the list of compatible devices, you might be able to sync with them as you do with your Xiaomi Mi Mix2 but we don't guarantee that the functionality will be optimum as we are still testing on these phone models and due to the large number of Android and Windows devices, our team has not yet tested all of them.

In the meantime, what I could recommend would be giving your Blaze a restart and see if that makes any difference. You can easily do this by pressing the left and lower right buttons for 10-12 seconds. This will make your tracker to reboot.

Hope that helps and if you need anything else, let me know!

Thank you for looking into this @FerdinandFitbit

I understand re the high number of Android phones, but its just very frustrating as a user. Especially as Mix2 is considered one of the best new phones, but ends up being incompatible with my Fitbit.

I tried restarting the tracker and my phone but that didn't fix the problem. I hope there's a  fix available for this soon!
