Music control not working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I can not get my fitbit blaze to sync with my samsung galaxy7 when I need it too for music controls only.

I got it specifically for when I run to control the music since I also use bluetooth headphones it's nice not to have to pull my phone out. I've found it never pairs when I need it too. when I randomly check it I'll notice sometimes it works. To be clear my notifications sync and work properly all the time, so I'm receiving texts, emails, calls etc, but the the music controls just alternate between "connecting/loading music".

I'm starting to think I got a defected watch. I have tried restarting both my phone and the blaze, as well as un-pairing and pairing my blaze.

What now?? Anyone else having the same problem. Maybe trying factory reset? I'm sure I can look up the directions. As someone who runs 4 days a week and hits the gym 2 this is EXTREMELY frustrating.

Hi there @tanikalr. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums!

I'm sorry you're having problems with your tracker not connecting to your music 😕

I can recommend going to your bluetooth settings on your phone. Here, look for the connected devices and you should find the Blaze. Tap on it and hit the option that says "Forget this device". After doing this, go to your app and set up your tracker as a new device. For this, go to the Account section at the bottom right corner on the Fitbit app and select the option that says "Set up a new device". Follow the on-screen instructions and once you're done, your tracker should be syncing without a problem.

If you're using an Android phone, in the bluetooth settings, you should be able to see something saying "Blaze Classic". Make sure to connect to it as this is the way your phone will connect to your tracker to control the music.

Let me know if this is of any help!

I have an s7 edge, got the watch for the exact reason you described and have never been able to get the controls to work. It does the same switching between connecting/loading music that you described.

Un-syncing the device from Bluetooth and reconnecting it does nothing to fix the problem.

I had honestly just given up until I read you were having the same problem.

Would love a solutuon to fix this!

Hi there @Blaze09309122.  Good to see you in the Community Forums! 🙂

By any chance, have you made sure that you're pairing throught the Blaze Classic on the bluetooth settings on your phone? You should see Blaze and Blaze Classic connected there in order for you to receive notifications but at the same time to be able to control the music on your phone.

Let me know if you're still having problems with this!

I am having the same issue with my Fitbit Blaze and playing music using an AT&T Lumia 950 Windows 10 mobile phone when I go to the music settings to use the music controls it starts saying connecting and loading music and this has happened since the last update

I have not had this issue before

I think there needs to be a software update for t he fitbit blaze to fix this problem

@FerdinandFitbit

It is paired through Blaze (Classic) and Blaze on Bluetooth, both styles show up on my connected Paired devices list. I do get all regular notifications, but for some reason the music controls have never worked. It acts like it's trying to connect but never can actually connect.

I have the same issue but not with a Samsung Phone

I have a Microsoft AT&T Lumia 950 with Windows 10 Mobile and am both not getting the notifications as well as the music control problem

So I think they need to put out an update for this issue to fix it

Hi there @schinchillaboy. Good to see you around!

Have you verified by any chance that you are connected throuth the Blaze classic and not through the Blaze only on your bluetooth settings on your phone?

It seems that the Lumia 950 is compatible so you shouldn't be having problems with is.

Let me know if you are able to check the connectivity in the bluetooth settings.

@schinchillaboy For your notifications to appear on your watch, after you have paired your phone and your fitibit, you still have to give the app permission to access the info. Make sure you go into the settings panel on your phone, then under applications go into fitbit and give "permission" to access your text and emails so that you can receive the notifications on your watch.

That should fix 1 of your problems.

@FerdinandFitbit Yes I've tried un-pairing and repairing, I also understand you have to connect using blaze classic. This watch pairs so seamlessly with the Iphone. Its extremely frustrating that we can't get the same quality with android phones.

Thanks for getting back @tanikalr!

In that situation, I would say there might be something with your phone specifically as it pairs without a problem with your iPhone 😕

Hi there @håkon. Great to have you in the Fitbit Community!

I'm sorry you are having problems with your tracker not connecting to your phone to control the music 😕

The Samsung Note 3 and the Samsung S4 Zoom seem to be compatible devices so I'm not realy sure what could be causing them not to connect properly. Have you tried on any other device as an iPad or an iPhone just for curiosity?
