You have to use your Phone to store and play the actual music. You can control it via your Blaze with most Android and iPhones by connecting via "classic bluetooth", which is separate fromm your regular bluetooth connection for notifications and syncing. You can read more about it in the manual here.

Welcome to the Forums @Aton! I'm glad to see you around! 🙂

I would just like to add to @SunsetRunner's great advise that when using MusicControl on your Blaze, for iOS you don't need to connect via Classic Bluetooth. It will connect with the regular Bluetooth option. Now, for Android, you need to enable to Classic Bluetooth on your settings on the Blaze, put it in "Pair" mode and go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone to pair to the Classic Bluetooth.

Once it's ready, just launch the music app you'd like to use, start playing the music on the app and the rest can be controlled from your Blaze.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need more help!

@FerdinandFitbit Thanks, I forgot you don't need classic BT for iOS devices. As to Windows, I didn't know any phones supported music control. The compatibility list still shows that feature as not working for Windows, at least as far as the Surge is concerned. Does it need to be updated?

Oh my, I'm sorry, you're right @SunsetRunner. Thanks for the observation. Currently it is available for iOS and Android only. Let me edit my previous post.

Guess I need some more coffee to wake up completely haha.

This is not working at all on my Blaze. I have tried Apple Music and Sirius on my Galaxy 6 and I cannot get the Blaze to "connect". Very frustrating.

Hi @JennBoBen! Great to see you in the Forums!

Since you're using an Android phone, it should connect through the bluetooth classic option. Are you doing this from the bluetooth settings on your phone? Do you receive any error message or what exactly happens that prevents the music crontrol from connecting?

I'll be looking forward for your reply!

Perhaps a nit-picky point, but some of the collateral material from Fitbit regarding music is misleading.  With other activity trackers able to store and play music directly from the device itself (such as Apple Watch and now maybe the Fitbit Ionic?), some of the promotional material makes it sound as though the Blaze has this capability.  Don't get me wrong... I have no complaints about my Blaze, and actually do use the remote control function to manage my listening experience when using Bluetooth speakers.  Pause, volume controls and "next track" controls are very useful!  An added benefit is that these controls not only work with music stored on your phone, but also with streaming services like Pandora and Spotify.  I use those a lot, so the added benefit of letting me control the music through my Fitbit Blaze is a real convenience.
