Need help with Blaze battery life

I bought the first Blaze two weeks ago and could not get it to charge. So, I took it back to Costco and got a new one. Same problem. Called Tech Support and they walked me through using my dongle from my Fitbit Charge to get it to sync with my computer to update the Firmware. (The tech said, most phones bluetooth don't sync with the Blaze, so it better to  use the dongle to sync for updates.) Which they don't provide with the Blaze. Now I have to charge my battery daily, it last maybe ten hours. And I have every battery sapping feature turned off on the app on my phone and on the Blaze it self. Still it barely last 10 hrs. Fitbit is advertising 4-5 DAYS with the HeartRate monitor, I can't even get 10 hrs with everything. Shut off. I need a fix soon, otherwise Garmin or Apple/Nike watch might be the better alternative.

Did you mention the battery life when taking to customer service? They would be the ones who could help you, and have the ability to see what's going on with your tracker.

Yes, sounds like you have another problem device. I get about a week out of mine even after having it more or less since release.

I had a Blaze for a week. It was my birthday gift last month. I had too many issues with it. It froze and the display did not stay on like a regular watch. Recharged it after two days which was not that great. I lost two days of my activity data. The Fitbit Blaze and its battery life suck. I returned it and got a new Garmin Forerunner 35 which I have for six weeks now. I love it. Its charge lasts a lot longer, 9 days or so. I can charge it without taking my band off while I'm at my computer with no issues. I hadn't taken it off yet since I got it. It's waterproof.

You might want to consider a Garmin Forerunner 35 (same price) or Vivoactive HR ($50 more) which has some similar features to the Blaze. I'm sure you will be more happy with it. The Blaze lacks GPS and it's not waterproof.  As a runner, I use a GPS a lot off my Garmin FR35 and don't have to use my smartphone to push button to start. It can be synced later. I had a Fitbit Flex (it died twice; lacks accurate step count) and a Fitbit One (must wear on a clip for accurate step count but I almost lost it twice). I still have my three years old Garmin Vivofit which it is still very good. To my own opinion, I would prefer Garmin over Fitibt. Garmin's step count is much more accurate than Fitbit's. Fitbit continues to count steps depending on the movement of your arm, not your feet. Maybe these trackers should be wearing on your feet instead so they can be counted correctly. No wonder why so many Fitbit wearers have too many steps. Hmmm.

Actually its the opposite. The Blaze undercounts steps and has since the April software update. But my Vivoactive HR is pretty good at counting steps. As acurate as my Blaze was before the April update.

Hi there @Baluchitherium. Good to see you in the Community!

As @MikeF and @Rich_Laue have already suggested, I would also suggest getting in touch with the Support Team about this.  They will be able to take a deeper look and see how's your tracker working and get you back on track without any problem as this should not be common thing to happen. Give that a try and let us know if you need more help with this.

Good to see you in the Community too @MikeS1971 @Suzyq34!
