New Blaze not working with connected GPS

Hello,

Brand new blaze, bought yesterday.  Tried to use the bike mode to track my cycling this morning and kept getting the 'check fitbit app' error.

Did some searching on this forum and I've:

- Ensured that the devices are connected via Bluetooth. My phone says its connected to the Blaze Classic and they are syncing OK.

- Restarted both devices

- Removed the blaze on my phone and re-added it

-  Double checked the FitBit permissions

- Checked that 'Use Phone GPS' is enabled for the bike app

- Checked 'Location Services' is enabled on my phone

I've actually given FitBit full permissions in an attempt to make it work but it hasn't.

Help me please!

It's great to welcome you @JimmyVee, thanks for troubleshooting this by yourself.

If you are having issues with the connected GPS feature, I recommend taking a look at the My Blaze GPS is not working post and follow the instructions provided there. Also, can you please tell me which mobile device you have?

Hope to hear from you soon. Smiley Happy

Hi,

I managed to get it working in the end - sort of.

My mobile phone is a WileyFox Swift 2.  In the end I had to delete my phones association to the fitbit, then add it through the fitbit app.

But I'm finding it really unreliable.  Often I have to restart my fitbit to get it to connector despite being connected to GPS and being able to sync it will give me the 'phone not found' error when trying to start an exercise.

What an awful product!

I bought the fitbit blaze to map my rides so I can understand and improve on my efficiency.  2 rides a day 7 days a week.

Out of the 14 rides 3 of them have map and speed for the complete ride.  2 additional rides stopped tracking .2 miles into the ride.

I've tried all the steps I could find on this forum such as closing all apps bar the fitbit app, leaving the fitbit app open, restarting both devices, having my phone on the same side of my body as the blaze, applying all updates, removing and re-adding the bluetooth association - none of it helps.

Oh and dates cant be set in UK format? Absolute joke.

Returning this evening or its going on sale on eBay.

Same sorry experience here.  The sync works fine.  Starting a gps trackable exercise says "Let's Go" so you know you've got a connection.  Then, for me, about a minute into the exercise I get the now all too familiar buzz on my wrist tells me the GPS has stopped tracking.  All other apps on the phone are still GPS aware and I can sync from the Fitbit app to the Blaze while the exercise is in progress so it doesn't appear to be a bluetooth issue.

This product is just too inconsistent to be viable.  So the Blaze is nothing but a big step counter now unfortunately.

yeah, a total joke, just did a 16 mile ride, which it logged as a 0.62 mile ride! and the map was way out, and the average speed was 0.4 mph, over a 1.38 hour period. its not just a little wrong, its massively wrong!
