Best AnswerIt should charge before being set up.
Did you feel the Blaze vibrate when you put it in the cradle? If so, that indicates it's charging. Usually giving it 30 minutes to charge most of the way will be enough - then you can go through set up.

Best AnswerI am having the exact same problem as Clarence. Ordered my Blaze from an REI store a week ago & it was just delivered yesterday. I can't finish the set up until the battery is charged. Have been charging it for about 2 1/2 hours (tried 2 different charging methods also). No battery icon ever appeared on the fitbit watch...just the "fitbit/setup" message. Never vibrated either when I plugged in to charge. Keep getting the "battery is too low message" also. Maybe my 15 year old can figure this out. Most frustrating. Will let you all know if anything changes.
Best AnswerI called tech support. We cancelled out my original set up process & did it over again. We ended up finishing the start up process on my i-phone rather than my PC. I can obtain my fitbit info on both my phone & PC however. The tech support person was able to see that I had about 90% battery charge even though the battery icon was not appearing on my fitbit when I first called. Not sure why this happened. Make sure you have your Bluetooth turned on. Mine was not originally. Maybe the battery icon really doesn't show at initial set up (even though it probably should). For what it is worth I hope this may help someone out there.
