New Blaze won't charge or setup

Hi I bought the Blaze last night turned it on and tried to set it up. It was going fine. Said it needed to update so I let it. The screen said it should not take longer than 10 minutes but sat for well over an hour and only got about half way before saying it's failed cause the battery is dead. So in my attempt to charge it overnight failed even though I left it in the charging cradle all night but never once did I see a battery symbol. I currently have a charge hr and never had a charging issue. I have tried plugging it in in multiple boxes plus my computer even my car charger and still nothing. it's stuck on the screen that says "fitbit.com/setup" but I can't set it up until it's updated and can't update until it's charged.

well I unpaired the device from my smartphone and reset the device. it still never showed a battery symbol but when re-syncing it finally managed to start updating again. which took a good 30 minutes to finish but when it was done showed the battery is fully charged. weird idk but whatever finally functional.

Hello @LadyKitteh, I'm glad you are setup.

As for the battery symbol, this will not show and there is no indication as to if the tracker is charging while its display has the setup massage.

The best to do is to start the setup process, if the tracker needs to be updated, the app will tell you if the battery is to low. At this point the Blaze is connected to your account, but will not be usable until the update is instslled.

Im posting this info more for anyone else who is haveing problems, and finds this thread through a sesrch.

The was to charge is: Plop out the fitbit divece from the frame and band by pushing it out when you are not wearing it. Then use the included charger connected to a computer's USB port or a USB coverter to a wall plug. Put the fitbit into the charger right side up by opening the box. (so that the fitbit logo is facing you so you can read it) Then Wait

For your attempt to set it up: Were you connected to a WiFi coonection for %100 of the time when you were downloading it? Celluar worked for me, but it may not work for you if you do not have a strong connection. (like 3-5 dots)

I hope I could help!!

Are you suggesting that i keep it charging despite the only "setup" display?     I have the device kept on charging for an hr .. yet no sign of charging icon being displayed ..

A warm welcome to the Community @Kala1381. I would like to know if you keep having problems with your Blaze? If you are seeing in the display the setup message, I recommend following the setup procedure directly from a computer.

I'm saying that when the setup message is on the tracker you will not see the battery icon that you are looking for.

One hour should be long enough and the tracker needs to be setup.

The setup did the trick .. it started charging as well as working post set up. Thanks!

@Kala1381 it was charging before the setup, it won't show any indication until it is setup.

None of my computer ports will pick up my blaze to charge it, so I can't set it up or update it. So frustrated

@chisey as long as you felt a vibration your blaze is charging. I would give it an hour, then try again.

Was told when I run I could use my Bluetooth headphones and listen to my music, without my phone.  I have to take my phone along which defeats the purpose.

Yes that was never an option with the Blaze which has the ability to control music on the phone.

The Ionic is the tracker that has 2.5 gig for music storage and can connect to headphones.. It however needs a Mac or Win 10 pc to load music.. Pandora also will sync.

I am curious of the outcome. The exact thing is happening to me. My Blaze only displays the Fitbit logo and says fitbit.com/setup . I can't charge it. What did you do to fix it?
