New blaze update

Is anyone having an issue with getting the new update to work? Every time I try to do it, it loads half way and the eventually goes back to the update tracker screen! I tried at least 5 or 6 times and it does the same thing each time?

301.8 is the new one that replaced 301.7... I had to actually contact and chat with the support at Fitbit and they sent me an email stating how to fix it... I recommend everyone contact support and do the live chat

@Mnbrossette Except I'm almost positive that I was already on .8. .7 was the original update in September and it crashed and burned and was replaced - I'm almost certain - by .8 then. I guess I could be wrong. But it's weird that there's no announcement from fitbit about the update anywhere.

@meresydotes and @Mnbrossette the info can be found in the main thread on the iOS sync issue and under what's new in the help doc, which is my first place to go. .

@Rich_Laue Ahh, I see it now. I ignored all that stuff because I use Android. Regardless, they really should have announced the update better. And I still don't think the version has been bumped at all. But I could be wrong.

I am having the same problems and it is very annoying.  I have spent 7 hours so far trying to update, this is a joke.  Maybe it's time to move on to another device, since I had the same waste of my time the last time there was an update.  Fitbit, please fix this.

Cannot update either. I keep getting the "Update failed, try again" message all the time. I've been through all troubleshooting steps; All-Day Sync is off. Still no go.

Finally completed the update this morning. I hope Fitbit is reading all the problems their updates have caused. After all they should want happy customers who want to continue buying there products. Good luck everyone.

this is of no use but my up date has taken 5.5 hrs and is still going. so 3 hrs is not good but at this point I would take it.

As suggested above, of the bar isnt moving ater 10 minutes please kill the app asnd start again .

Try closing uneeded apps, doing this increased the speed with my update on Wednesday.

I'll add to try both WiFi and cell data.

Also if you are able to, try a different device

Worst case it should only take 30. I just helped friend set hers up in 10 minutes including the update.

I do find that the quality of the network makes a giant difference. When I was able to do updates with my computer, which is on ethernet, they were always superfast. I've tried them at work, where we have fast internet, but lots of people on the wifi and they take over an hour. At home, the last one took about 20 minutes. This is, of course, still twice as long as the promised "up to 10 minutes," but wasn't long enough to send me into any kind of rage stroke.

My 3 hour update (above in this thread) started at the office Wi-Fi (late in day, little traffic), continued on the commute home (LTE all the way) and finished with my home Wi-Fi (250Gb/s down to the Wi-Fi choke point), so it would have to be a pretty massive file for network speed to be a factor. Never seen that problem with video downloads. Could the issue be at the fitbit server, possibly struggling with heavy demand to distribute a just-released update? Update delay/failure issues seem persistent, but somewhat random.

I had the same issue with it downloading to 50% and stopping.  I tried maybe 5 times before giving up that method.  I had a similar issue long ago with a previous update, and my solution this time (as I did previously) was use a dongle from an old charge hr connected to my laptop. You have to first turn Bluetooth off on your phone, pop the dongle in, and perform the update which was very quick.

Mine nis 30 minutes in to the 'up to 10 minutes' update, and the status bar looks like it is about halfway done. Grrr.

@Kay20 I just noticed that I was mentioned.. When you say the Blaze screen doesn't do anything at all, is there anything on the screen?

@Rich_Laue No nothing but the regular screen.. like it isn't responding at all to it attempting to update. However, I do still get my notifications and everything else. Just won't update or sync.
