No Bluetooth option listed in the settings of my Blaze

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just got my Blaze yesterday and when I went to set it up, there was no Bluetooth option in the settings.  I charged the Blaze and read the manual.  I powered it down and still no Bluetooth option.  However, when the Blaze is in my hand (not in the watch band) the option was there.  Then when I paired it, it went away again and I cannot sync.  No Bluetooth option showing at all on the Blaze.  I don't think it should keep disappearing as an option.  Smiley Sad

My understanding as @dimpoudelis points out, if you BTLE is connected an iOS device, the Bluetooth Classic is disabled since it is not needed for iOS. The BT Classic setting on the watch is only used to control music through non iOS phones,, so yes it might be all about the phone @John66.

Now if your not on an iOS phone, I would do a add we using the replace current Blaze option.

BTW, notifacations happen through the Bluetooth Low Energy, not the Bluetooth Classic.

Ok let me see if I can say this as clearly as possible.  The original question is  (Why do I sometimes not see the Bluetooth option on my new Blaze watch).

Are you running iOS, Android Lollipop, Marshmallow, or Nougat? The answer is in there.

If its iOS, you will not see it from the screen shots. Anything else and it will. I'm running Android 6.0.1. This shows up on mine.

I had the smae issue and I contacted fitbit. This is what they told me to do to fix it. It worked and yeah my blutooth menu dissapeared to. I asked the rep why she said at the moment they don't know but they are looking into it. I hope this helps fix your blaze.

Yuxine: Kindly restart your tracker by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit icon on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds and let go of the buttons.

Me: ok it's done.

Me: it's back to the time now.

Yuxine: Great!

Yuxine: Now in your mobile phone, please force quit the app, turn off your phone's bluetooth and restart it.

Me: ok give me a sec

Yuxine: Sure! I'll be right here.

Me: Ok im waiting for my phone to power cycle.

Yuxine: Alright. let me know once it's up.

Me: Ok its coming back on, now do I turn on my blutooth on my phone and try to pair my fitbit?

Yuxine: Yes please.

Hey guys,

I just went all the steps that everyone has gone through and what seemed to work for me was logging completely out of the Fitbit App from my device and logging back in.   I think this due software updates not allowing the device and your Fitbit to sync properly causing all kinds of chaos.

After I did this I was about to add my Blaze device all over again and the app found it right away.   So if your still having troubles,  power cycle both the Fitbit and your device, open the Fitbit app,  click the top left hand option and choose Log Out.  Then open the app again and log back into the app.  Hopefully that'll work for you guys!

For me what worked was turnin off the bluetooth on my ipad. I had my blaze
on both my phone and my ipad. I forgot to turn off the bluetooth on my
ipdad. When ever I tried connecting to my phone It wouldn't read because my
ipad was on and connected.

@Migaswhat you experienced is something to remember with when using any bluetooth device.

Like your BT speaker, your tracker is a BT client and is only able to connect to a single BT host at a time.

The host being a phone, computer, ipad, etc.

Of course if you can't turn the ipad off, simply move 30-40 feet away from it.

I have a question for you now that you mentioned the BT connection. I want to work out and use my bluethooth head set's as well as utulizing my blaze to control my music. I have been unable to use both at the same time. Is there something I can do to be able to use both my blaze and my bluetooth head sets? I thought this would be available since it is bluetooth and it's advertized.

@Migas your asking a OS specific question, without telling us what OS you are using.

In Marshmallow and above, go to your Bluetooth settings and you should be able to turn off the input control on the headset, then turn on the input for the Bluetooth classic.

This might varry between phone models

I am not sure what system I have. My phone is a Galaxy s5. I do know what your talking about on the bluetooth setting though. I saw it before but since I am not very tech savi I chose not to mess with it; out of fear that I would be causing some sort of damage to my head sets. Thank you though for letting me know how to do this. I will be sure to try this today with my workout :).

I'm going to have to disagree with you @Rich_Laue

I have the app set to allow all day sync. But I find it uploads periodically, but it will do a sync when you turn Bluetooth on and have Data or Wifi on. Here's my thing. I have a pair of SkullCandy Crusher  2 Wireless headphones that are off when I'm not using them. Same with Bluetooth. It's off when I'm not using it. I can use my phone to upload my stats to Fitbit from the watch and listen to music through the Crushers, so technically, you can use more than one device. I know that the Blaze is passive, but that still counts. If I have no use for Bluetooth on my phone, it remains off. On my computer however it remains on. I would say that, yes, you can use and pair more than one device to your phone, depending on the model. I have an Asus Zenfone 3 ZE552KL. Works on that. As for Bluetooth controls on my watch, why do that when I can use the Crushers to tell it what I want to do? That function is off on my watch.

On my computer however, I have at least 3 things hooked up and using Bluetooth at the same time:

Logitech MX Master Mouse.

Altec Lansing Lifejacket 3 speaker

Gears Of War 4 Xbox One controller because I stream from my Xbox in the living room to my laptop in my office.

So you can run multiple things on your laptop using Bluetooth and not have any issues. I try to limit my phone to what I'm actually using. On the laptop as you can see, I don't care. So the one thing at a time on Bluetooth is definitely false.

We're talking about the watch right? I just noticed that. The watch, I would suggest is to pick one and leave the rest alone. Watch or computers/laptops?

@Driver8666i have no idea ehat comment of mine ypu disagree with. Nothing in your post has anything to do with my last post which explai s that it is possible to tell the phones Bluetooth what to use.

I simply tell the phone nit to use the headphone buttond to control music.

I only noticed that when your email from the group was left in my email box after I hit the send button. Sorry for the confusion. I'd closed out and was logging off my work computer.

Once it is connected and paired it disappears and you won’t see it again unless you disconnect from your phone.

@Leprechaun61 is your phone an iOS device??

IOS doesn't use classic so it has been disabled.

If you need it for android, set the tracker up as a replacement through the android device.

When I shut down my Blaze and turn it back on the "Bluetooth Classic Pair" appears in my "Settings".  On the FitBit app in my IPhone, it instructed me to "refresh background app", which I did.  When I press the button to listen to music, it shows "music loading", then it stops and says "no music".  When I go back to the "Settings" to see if the "Bluetooth Classic Pair" option is there it disappeared.  I shut down the Blaze and turned it back on, went to Settings and then the "Bluetooth Classic Pair" appears again.  But it keeps disappearing after I select the "Bluetooth Classic Pair".  Please advise.

@MSR1 it diss peers because your connected to an iPhone.

On the iPhone music is controlled through the same Bluetooth Low Energy as the sync uses. Bluetooth Classic is not used and gets disabled.
