Problems with Fitbit Blaze

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I appreciate my wife getting me a Blaze, it seemed like a good idea at the time, but the dahsboard software has too many problems, it frequently stops syncing, and valuable data is lost or not collected at all. The fact that sooooo many others are posting similar problems indicates that Fitbit is not serious about delivering a quality product. I will look elsewhere for a better product in the future. The Garmin Vivosmart looks much more reliable for about the same price. As a researcher in data science I was hoping the data might be useful in some way, but unfortunately there are too many problems with it and it is unreliable for anything but a novel look every now and then. Why spend $200 for worthless data??

I agree. This Fitbit Blaze is not worth the money you pay.   I've only had this since December and have experienced some of the same problems.   I'm looking elsewhere for a better and more quality product

The USB charging cradles are crap and do not work even on USB 3 ports.  After leaving it connected for a week and being almost ready to return it, i finally got it to charge by plugging the USB end of the cradle into and HTC cheapo adapter that plugs into a 110 outlet.  After a couple of hours I was finally able to update it and set it up.  We'll see if my experience is any better than others on these boards.   Either the firmware or the hardware if junk in these, or buggy at best, as I had the same problem w/a charge2 I bought for my wife.  That one got returned for a refund.

So are saying when the tracker was plugged into a computers usb port, the charging cable was broken. But when you plug it into an household adapter the cable mysteriously repaired itself.

Maybe it would be better to look at the compute and its usb ports that barely supply any power while the computer is in its sleep mode.

Best Answer

Who said anything about mysteriously?  Two separate computers, one HP, one Dell, unable to charge the Blaze thru their USB ports awake or in sleep mode.  I misstated that the cable is the issue, fact is the Fitbit device is the issue.  The forums are littered w/the same problem unsolved by many unhappy owners of Fitbit devices.  Your 20k+ posts i'm guessing include many of testaments to this..

@InfinityWatch to quote you "i finally got it to charge by plugging the USB end of the cradle into and HTC cheapo adapter that plugs into a 110 outlet.".

Now if the cable or traker is bad, how did it charge when plugged into tye wall.

Best Answer

It's poorly made.  And it's not just me.  You can do a search for the Blaze not charging.  The fitbit community forums are littered w/examples from other dissatisfied customers.  Good for you yours is so good.  'Nuff said.

This works for me as well...sometimes. It is so frustrating. I have owned the original fitbit, Alta and now the Blaze. Blaze has been the only one with issues. It seems that once a month I have to uninstall and then reinstall the app to get it back to syncing. I don't lose any data, but I get so irritated. I hope my increase in heart rate counts as active minutes!

My Garmin hasn't been any better with the syncing issue. In fact it's worse. I will be coming back to fitbit. Only tried the Garmin because it is water proof.

Thanks FerdinandFitbit for your post. I have had a Fitbit Blaze since May and this past weekend the single button on the left side stopped working. After two days of frustration, I came to this community site only to follow your reset instructions, which fixed my issue. Thank you!

Second thing, I too look around for other services and products, but the overall Fitbit community are why I am still here.

Best wishes to all! Thanks for the reset instructions.

Respectfully, I now have same issue as before. Neither the reset nor the shutdown option seem to make a difference. Even cleaning around the buttons has not helped...

Welcome any effective feedback as I do truly enjoy the community of friends that seem to come with the Fitbit device.

I'm having similar issues. Blaze was not syncing. Tried restarting it multiple times, tried turning Bluetooth on and off, tried impairing and repairing the device. It appears that the Bluetooth inside the fitbit isn't working. I deleted it from the app and now when I try to set it up as a new device, no success. It is fully charged. I'm at a loss as to what to do next. Had a Surge with no problems for 2 years, liked the Blaze features but this stinks. Help!

I agree. My blaze worked for two weeks and now it has issues syncing...200 bucks down the drain

I saw your comment about the Garmin Vivosmart.  DON'T BUY IT!  Just returned from Best Buy as I returned it because it was worse than the Fitbit Charge 2!  Syncing is a very big issue.   So I attempted to use Garmin Express to see if it needed updating and Garmin Express with the tracker hooked up to my computer couldn't even find the tracker.   Not so sure there's anything it there that can do the job.

I just got a new Samsung galaxy 8+ it will not sync my messages, calls or apps with my fit bit blaze.  Does my steps, sleep etc.... but as far as working together is a no go. I have tried everything.  Turn it off, start over, take out app, add new device etc. I'm so frustrated. My fit bit blaze now works perfectly with my son's Motorola phone.

This sucks, I am replying to a post that is almost a year old. I should have read more of these before I bought another Fitbit.

The $200 watch should work without having to unpair, uninstall, download a new App, re-install, and pair a the device. This thing is going on Ebay, I hope to get $20 for it to go towards a new Garmin watch.

@Aggies35 has the Fitbit app paired the Blaze yet?

Do you get notifications on the phones lock screen?

Have you check the app settings and phones permissions?

Is Fitbit notifications enabled?

Always connected enabled?

Restarted the phone?

@Oakie194 if you would like help, we will need more info on the problem.

The steps you mention, will not fix the problem.. The tracker is impaired through the phones Bluetooth, and does not need to be paired up. You I are removing the tracker from your account. At best this step does nothing, at worst will cause more problems.

It is one of the other steps that does the fix.
