(RESOLVED) 9/3 - Received Classic Sleep rather than Sleep Stages

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

9/7 Update:

Thanks everyone for your patience while we investigated this issue. We acknowledge there was an abnormally high number of users not receiving sleep stages since this past weekend. Our team has confirmed this issue has since been resolved. It's still possible for users to receive the simplified sleep patterns due to the reasons mentioned in this help article. Thanks again for your patience and understanding.

9/5 Update:

Hi, everyone! We are expecting a fix for this will take a few more days. This means you should anticipate receiving the classic sleep patterns for the coming days. Our team is working hard to get everyone their Sleep Stages back! We know how important this feature is and hope to have it resolved soon. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

9/4 Update:

We are continuing to investigate this issue, and understand that some of you are still not seeing Sleep Stages. Thanks again for your patience while we work toward a resolution. Here are some answers to questions that have come up around the issue:

Q: Is there something wrong with my tracker? Does my tracker need to be replaced?

A: No, there is nothing wrong with your tracker. This is a bug within Fitbit's sleep system.

Q: Am I not receiving Sleep Stages because of my app version or tracker firmware version?

A: No, this is not directly related to your tracker or app. This is a bug within Fitbit's sleep system.

Q: Do I need to contact Fitbit to get this resolved?

A: No, you do not need to contact Support. This issue is not specific to any accounts, and we are working to get it resolved for all customers.

Q: When will I see Sleep Stages again?

A: We are working hard to implement a fix for this top-priority issue, and hope to have it resolved as quickly as possible. We will update this thread as soon as we have more definitive information.

We are aware of an issue that resulted in some Blaze users receiving Classic Sleep graphs rather than Sleep Stages over the past few nights.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and our team is looking into this to prevent it from recurring.

Friday night my blaze has not recorded my sleep stages. Have updated app and not sure what has changed . Please help!!

Mine too! I thought it was just me, but it has been exactly three nights since it has giben me detailed sleep patterns... it was doing it reliably for the past 4 weeks . And I know the basic sleep patterns are not  accurate because it says I've slept 4 hours, and I know I have slept much more than that. Very very frustrating because mine is brand new, and the only reason I got the Alta HR is to track my sleep patterns.

Best Answer

Is there any way to resolve this, or any timeframe for resolution? I'm still getting classic data, and I'm bummed, since I've actually been very intentional about getting more sleep the last few nights, and I really would have liked to see the detailed data.

Still happening. Any idea when it will be fixed?

Best Answer

This has gone on the last four nights for me.  Reset, changed the way I was wearing the band, charged it, no difference seen.

Last night I slept with my Blaze AND Charge 2- No Stages on EITHER!

Please don't dismiss this- I've spent over $400 within the past six months with fitbit.

Id like an HONEST reply- my chat with customer service yesterday ASSURED me Stages would be back today, AND that they would display on the missing days- I highly double this is true...

i purchased the Blaze SPECIFICALLY for sleep stages when my Charge 2 didn't get them for months after it was supposed to.

this is unacceptable.

My sleep stages haven't worked since Friday! I thought maybe I had slept on my watch weird and it hadn't caught my heart rate, but it just keeps happening now. Glad to see I'm not the only one. fitbit, please fix it!

Has there been a resolution to this Blaze issue?  Mine stopped the same time as stated in this blog 9/3 and is still not working correctly tracking the sleep stages today 9/4.

Best Answer

This is happening to the Charge 2 as well. As of Friday night.

Best Answer

Mine is not tracking sleep stages.  Hasn't worked for the past 3 nights.  I'm guessing the issue is still being worked on and hasn't been resolved yet, right?

Best Answer

Same started with my sleep on Friday night.  I was away the last two nights in a hotel and thought it had something to do with the poor/shorter sleep I was having.  Slept at home last night and it still gave me the classic sleep data.... I've tried rebooting the fitbit and I guess I will have to wait until tomorrow morning to see if that works...

Is this fix coming in an APP update or an update to the Blaze itself? It worked flawlessly all last week then it stopped on Friday night and hasn't worked since.  This is a feature I really liked. Please fix soon.

Best Answer

This is happening on the charge 2 as well.  For the last three nights.

But the last time we went through this go around it never got resolved that's why they purchased my blaze. I had a charge 2  that did not get stages (even though my husband's got sleep stages) months went by I didn't get stages… I drop the money for a blaze and now no stages???

i'm getting this for my Alta HR. hasn't worked since Friday.

Me circus boy, I totally understand, this feature is my favorite and most-analysed "bit" that fitBIT provides... months of flawless sleep tracking, stopped? Please, Fix it, Dear fitbit!

I don't know if all y'all at fitbit get it or not, but I'm a fitbit defender!

I promote the HECK outta fitbit, and I will retract every statement I've made if this isn't fixed like YESTERDAY.

People say what junk you are?  I tell 'em mine's great! And, I wasn't lying, before...

however this recent turn of events has me very upset.

Any thought of an Ionic has gone out the window as of now, Fitbit...

Im about to hit Twitter...

which I'll have to install specifically to tweet about (and to) fitbit.

Hey darlin'! Wander on up to the topmost thread...

A whole bunch of us are going through this, if you want some people to help you feel better and not so alone but on over to that thread! 🙂 Because that's pretty much all it will do is help you not feel so alone… I certainly hope that FitBit pulls out a fix for this sooner then the month it took to get the charge to working back in April! ❤️

I just purchased my Blaze a little over two and a half weeks ago. The Sleep Stages were recording just fine until Friday night, and has only recorded Sleep Patterns for the past three nights. It looks like there are a lot of folks experiencing this save problem.  What is the 'solution', to restore Sleep Stages?

Best Answer

I'm in the same camp though it might be hard to tell from my posts in this thread. I am just totally disgusted by Fitbit's apparent apathy. Like you I am considering installing Twitter, which I detest, just because of this experience. Sleep stages is probably the one feature I liked the most and it worked so well for months until the past several nights. Obviously Fitbit COULD fix it "yesterday" if they wanted to.

Thanks so much for the info, Matthew! I have only had my Fitbit Charge 2 for about two weeks, and sleep stages have worked great except for the past two nights. Thought maybe it was just me, but I found this topic. I appreciate that the FitBit team is working on the issue! I'm loving the FitBit!
