9/7 Update:
Thanks everyone for your patience while we investigated this issue. We acknowledge there was an abnormally high number of users not receiving sleep stages since this past weekend. Our team has confirmed this issue has since been resolved. It's still possible for users to receive the simplified sleep patterns due to the reasons mentioned in this help article. Thanks again for your patience and understanding.
9/5 Update:
Hi, everyone! We are expecting a fix for this will take a few more days. This means you should anticipate receiving the classic sleep patterns for the coming days. Our team is working hard to get everyone their Sleep Stages back! We know how important this feature is and hope to have it resolved soon. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
9/4 Update:
We are continuing to investigate this issue, and understand that some of you are still not seeing Sleep Stages. Thanks again for your patience while we work toward a resolution. Here are some answers to questions that have come up around the issue:
Q: Is there something wrong with my tracker? Does my tracker need to be replaced?
A: No, there is nothing wrong with your tracker. This is a bug within Fitbit's sleep system.
Q: Am I not receiving Sleep Stages because of my app version or tracker firmware version?
A: No, this is not directly related to your tracker or app. This is a bug within Fitbit's sleep system.
Q: Do I need to contact Fitbit to get this resolved?
A: No, you do not need to contact Support. This issue is not specific to any accounts, and we are working to get it resolved for all customers.
Q: When will I see Sleep Stages again?
A: We are working hard to implement a fix for this top-priority issue, and hope to have it resolved as quickly as possible. We will update this thread as soon as we have more definitive information.
We are aware of an issue that resulted in some Blaze users receiving Classic Sleep graphs rather than Sleep Stages over the past few nights.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and our team is looking into this to prevent it from recurring.

Problem still not fixed. Four nights now without sleep stages. Eleven weeks without GPS function.
I'm disgusted that Fitbit continue to market this tracker as having features they can't currently provide.

One more to the counting... no sleep stages for 3 days now.
Paciently waiting for a fix from Fitbit to the problem.

4 days without sleep stages. Is it really taking that long to fix? Is there an end in sight? And when is this likely to be?

Four days of simplified sleep and counting.
I appreciate that it's being looked at, but the activity log run issue took weeks to sort out. When you've purchased an item to use its features, it's frustrating when said features don't work...

I am having the same issue. No REM sleep tracking for the last 2 nights. Just get n times awake, nn times restless and nnn min awake / restless. Graph shows Awake, Restless and Asleep.Issue first occured sometime between am 3 Sept and pm 4 Sept. I suggest FitBit Blaze developers roll back whatever they did then. It didn't work!

My Alta HR has been reporting sleep stages since I first got it in early June but has been showing only sleep, awake and restless for the past 4 days. Is this related to this bug? Should I simply wait until the bug is fixed and see if that restores sleep stages?

My fitbit Blaze has been doing this the last two nights. Technically, it was 3 nights but Sunday's sleep resolved itself somehow. Very dissapointed right now and hope this is resolved asap.

I am also having this issue with a charge 2. Is this a know problem? The post makes it seem like this is only with the blaze.

I have an alta hr and my boyfriend has the charge 2, both fitbits have not tracked sleep stages for the last 3 nights..

My Charge 2 has also not provided detailed sleep data since 1 September. I think system affects all device types, not just the Blaze.

It would've been helpful if the customer service assistant that I spoke with on Saturday evening shared this information. We went through several troubleshooting maneuvers (red tarting the tracker, updating the app, changing arms, charging the tracker before bed, etc.) that have not resolved the situation. I look forward to the situation being resolved because the sleep stages is probably, for me, now the most important data gathered by the tracker.

The last two nights my sleep stages had gone back to sleep classic and the same happened this morning originally. However, I fell asleep again for an hour or two and when I woke up again and synced my tracker the sleep stages showed up again for the whole night. Hopefully this means that it's been somewhat fixed!
