2 questions:
1. is it still the same charging plug like the surge? (the reason I needed to exchange it twice since the cable always fell out)
2. How easy is the main unit removed from the bezel/strap? I have visions of it popping out and flying across a gym floor during intense activity.

@groovehoob Yes, since the charging cable requires full enclosure of the tracker itself, you'll need to remove the tracker from the band every time.
I think you may be surprised with how smooth the removal process is; a simple- but intentional- push will be required to remove the tracker to charge (every 5 days with normal usage). I normally don't feel any stress on the tracker or the band when doing so. I'd liken it to putting on removing a seatbelt.

@jpik Nope, you can see from the picture of the Blaze cable in the store that it has been redesigned. (So Fitbit is keeping their record of having a different cable for every device.)
As far as popping out, I suspect it can only come out from the back, so unless you wear it very loose it isn't going to fly across the gym floor.

@jpikAs @Michael and @MikeF pointed out, the Blaze tracker comes out from only the bottom of the frame by pushing it out with a light force. This is in order to prevent it from accidentally falling out. To put it back into the frame you simply align it to the frame and put a small amount of force until you hear it click in securely. Check it out at about 1:15 in this video:
As for the charging cable, @Michael is 100% right in saying that the charging cable has been completely redesigned. Check it out via the same link he shared above. Great questions!

The charging cable almost looks like it could be a contactless charger

@Rich_Laue But it probably isn't since you can sync via USB with it. Which is a step towards having a Fitbit that doesn't have BT turned on for people that can't have BT in the work place. (The Surge can sync via it's USB cable as well.)

@Rich_Laue My guy @Michael is right, the charger is an enclosure that you pop open and put the Blaze tracker into and then close shut. The back of the Blaze has 4 metal contacts which must make contact with the 4 metal pins in the charger.

So, do you have to take it out of the watch frame every time you want to charge it? If so, I'd be concerned about fatigue on the device.
thanks

Thanks Emerson.
Be good to see how that works after a few months, but I will say it's an improvement on the charging cable on the Charge HR.

Here's a video showing how easy it is.

I think I just read somewhere that the tracker has to be popped out for every charging?? Is this true or can it be charged with the wrist band attached? Has the frame and the device's snap-in buttons really been stress tested for this amount of use?? If the battery performance is not five days but, say, 2 1/2 days due to usage, this would seem to be not only a bit of a pain but also worrisome for wear and tear.

Yes, you need to take the tracker out for each charge. I'm sure Fitbit has tested this and it doesn't put to much pressure on the Blaze/frame. Very light push.

I've seen buttons popping off HR/Surge and band fatigue Flex / HR / Surge. I'm unsure how much the company actually repetivively stress tests given prior examples.
