Resting heart rate rising

My resting heart rate has been steadily increasing from 59 three weeks ago to 70 today. Is this normal given that I've just started working out again after a couple of years of not really doing very much?

@Lala83Welcome...... I can't comment on your rising RHR, but for me it is important I sleep with my Blaze as outlined in this link to Fitbit's Heart Rate data. Fitbit stress that we sleep with the wrist type Fitbit's.  I wear my Blaze 24/7 except showering..

A rising RHR could be an overtraining or in your case the body assimilating to the new stresses.

The only time my RHR rose like yours was after an operation and then it eventually came down.

I have found the Blaze excellent as a guide to higher weather temperatures. Mine always goes up a few points and this last couple of weeks we have been sitting on about 32oC (90oF)  and my RHR went from 53 to 56 and now my body has conditioned itself to the current warmer weather it is back to 53. Many of us use it as a precursor of an impending unwellness... It works.

There is plenty on the internet about RHR...
