Hi Fitbit m8s,

I want to share with you this stats, please comment.

My favorite running track has up and downhills. You can saw it on google maps: https://www.google.rs/maps/dir/44.7794565,20.4681445/44.7634181,20.4778412/@44.7704867,20.4645267,22...

So running in one direction, mostly downhill, blaze measure 2.27 km. Walking back using the same direction fitbit blaze count 1.92km, basically 350 meters difference (?). More info below:

I know thats challenging for device to figure out uphill and downhill terrain but I am a bit confused about the possible errors here. Google maps same distance count in total 2km.

Cheers,

Marko

Hi @bbarrera

I suppose that you are completely right. Today I run again using the same track,  the same types of training is selected, one way run, back walking and the results are very similar. My conclusion is that the device is accurate in a terms of counting steps, just default stride lenght for me something which I need to define. Running step is shorter than default one in fitbit app (I will change it from 107 cm to 90cm).

Anyhow, next run will confirm am i right.

Best regards

A warm welcome to the Community @mari5ha and @bbarrera thanks for stopping by.

I think that the recommendation here is really accurate, I also recommend changing your stride length, if you don't know how to measure it, I recommend taking a look at this post and follow the instructions provided there.

See you around. Woman Happy

Hi,

I didn't know that I need to change stride length at fitbit webpage. I change it in android app, but then realize  that nothing is changed. So I restart device and change it on webpage following manual.
