Samsung 8 & 8+, When will it be a supported device FitBit....This is getting ridiculous!!!  You standard message is a joke.  I want to know WHEN it will be a supported update.  This phone has been out now for 4 months and for FitBit to not REALLY address the issue is just as much of a joke.

Hi there @HDBrian. Great to see you around!

Thanks a lot for bringing this up. At the moment, we don't have any news on when these will become a compatible device, but it's not because out team is not working on it but because of restrictions on Samsung's end.

If you are not aware, the Samsung S8 and S8+ have some bluetooth issues at the moment that make them incompatible with Fitbit trackers since they're the first phones in the market that use Bluetooth 5.0 while Fitbit trackers and other standard Bluetooth devices run on Bluetooth 4.0.

For more information, you can do some research on google where you will easily find this information.

Thanks a lot for your patience and anything else you may need, I'm here to help! 🙂

I was just told via FB Messenger from Fitbit that it is a supported device and should have no problems???  Also, if it is a bluetooth issue as stated above then why is is that my wife has a Charge 2 and a Samsung 8+ and has NO issues.  I am not buying that fact that it is a Samsung issue.....

Hi @HDBrian, thanks for getting back.

I apologize about the confusion here. I just checked the list of compatible devices and it seems that the Samsung S8 and S8+ have been added to the list, so they should be working properly. Though, those were  the issues we were having with the connectivity between both devices before. I'm happy to see that it's all now resolved!

Are you having any issues with your tracker not connecting to your phone correctly?

I had a heck of a time getting mine to work and I'll tell ya after giving up, I am NOW getting notifications. Here's how I had to do it.  Set your tracker to pair in settings.  You'll see Blaze Classic and Blaze.  Classic will pair with no problems but Blaze will show you a million errors saying it was rejected by blaze.  After trying and trying and trying, I got it to where it didn't give me the error but it didn't show it as paired either.  I stopped trying at that point and just got back to work.  I also had to go into Smart Lock settings to add it to my trusted devices.  Go to Settings>Lock Screen and Security>Smart Lock>ENTER YOUR PIN>Trusted Devices>+ Add trusted Devices>Bluetooth then add the blaze classic (and blaze if it miraculously shows up). Once I started getting notifications (one their own) I checked and Blaze was in my paired devices and my phone automatically asked me to add it to Smart Lock trusted devices.  It's worked beautifully since!  Good Luck!
