I am preordering the BLaze and I want to be sure that I have a screen protector for it right away. I have only found one screen protector on ebay that specifically says it is for the Blaze. Would the surge screen protector work?

The CAVN Fitbit Blaze Screen Protector list the following features;

  1. "Fingerprint" Resistant - Good, no fingerprints on the screen.
  2. "Scratch" Resistant - Good, no scratches yet.
  3. "Layered" Protection - I'm not sure want they mean by "Layered"
  4. "High" Strength - Maybe, the screen protector shows no damage. But I cracked my screen while mowing the yard yesterday. Looking straight on at the Blaze screen, I don't notice the crack. But at the right angle or in the sunlight, I can see the crack.
  5. "Zero" Residue - Good, I cannot see or feel any residue after I installed the screen protector.
  6. "Seamless" Touch - Good, all of the touchscreen functions work without any issues

I remember reading somewhere online that Fitbit reduced the thickness of the Blaze lens when they started using the "Gorilla Glass". If this is true that was a big mistake. As they did not make any improvements on the "shatter" resistance of the lens. This is the third Fitbit Blaze that I have craked the screen on and each time it occurs while I am mowing my lawn (1/4 acre) with a push mower. I do all of the trimming with a gas powered trimmer, so there is no chance for me to impact the Fitbit Blaze on anything. This is the last Fitbit Blaze I will get, as I believe in the "3 Strike" and you are out policy.

Please note I have added a comment on July 23rd. It is the CAVN screen protector that is cracked. It did its job and I would recommend it. I have replaced the damaged screen protector with another one form the 3 pack.

Yes it is and I bought Kimilar Screen Protector for Blaze from Amazon

Yup. That's what I bought as well. Just installed it. While I'm sure it'll protect the screen, I've already noticed that it retains fingerprints much more easily that the Blaze screen itself.

Does the blaze still fit into the charger with the protector on?  This seems to be a concern with several screen protectors I have read about.  TIA

Yes, it still fits perfectly. The screen protector is very thin and fits well.

Yes, it does work with the Fitbit Blaze charger. It will snap close with a little more pressure required than without a screen protector. For a more worry free type charger, you can try this one that I found on Amazon; https://www.amazon.com/Charger-Charging-Accessories-Kartice-Station/dp/B01H3WHNEI/ref=pd_bxgy_107_im...

With this charger you do not have to remove the Fitbit Blaze from the case/band.

On another note, back on July 4th I had mentioned that I had still cracked my Fitbit Blaze screen. I had a surprise today when I removed my screen protector. It was the CAVN screen protector that was damaged and not my Fitbit Blaze screen. There are several cracks on the CAVN screen protector and a smudged fingerprint. IMG_20170723_1206399.jpg

Well Gorilla 3 shattered on my blaze when just doing typical yard work. So not much respect for the Gorilla

_blaze_,

I use the; https://www.amazon.com/Charger-Charging-Accessories-Kartice-Station/dp/B01H3WHNEI/ref=pd_bxgy_107_im.... I found this on Amazon and it works great. It does not apply any pressure to the face of the Fitbit Blaze. The charger that comes with the Fitbit Blaze will increase the clamping pressure to the edges and I found that it does increase the risk of cracks starting at the edge.

When I checked the Amazon site this morning the cost is $9.78 + shipping. But it is worth it.

This is what I have;

The charger still shuts but you have a squeeze a bit, which means you have to apply the screen protector dead on center. I am going to order the charger like the poster above recommended.

I love my CAVN screen protectors. It takes the abuse so my Blaze screen does not. I need to order another pack but the screen protectors are a lot cheaper and easier to replace than the Blaze. With my job, I'm in coal mines, steel mills and other industrial plants. So, I will get cracks in the CAVN screen protector but not on my Blaze.

gf72er,

The Gorilla glass will work if it was the original thickness of the original Blaze screens. However, after I starter looking into why the Gorilla glass screens crack on the Fitbit Blaze. I found that they had reduced the thickness of the Gorilla Glass screens. I don't know why but they did not improve the durability of the screen.

That's my 2 cents.
