Why did last night's sleep not record in the sleep patterns screen it had when the app was upgraded a couple months ago. I can't tell what type of sleep I am getting anymore. Just the old stuff that says you slept this long and we're awake this many times. I like the deeper information provided on REM, light sleep, deep sleep, and awake. That's great information.

Hello there @Rydog! Good to see you in the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂
When it comes to the new Sleep Stages, there are some scenarios where you might not see sleep stages forthe night but instread, you will see the old sleep pattern as you mention. These scenarios are the following:
Make sure to keep an eye on this each night to ensure that you will get insight on your sleep with Sleep Stages.
Let me know if you have any more questions about this!

That makes sense. It worked the following night. So I'll chalk it up to one of the reasons you suggested. It was the first time it had happened since the upgraded screens.
Thanks,

Mine has done it 2 nights in a row and none of those scenarios apply!

Mine has been working seamlessly for 6 months and then, for me too, the last two nights it has only provided the basic sleep information. I, too, had changed nothing regarding how I wear the band or how I sleep and the battery was full. Coindence? Or an indication of a bigger issue?

Mine, too. It has worked perfectly ever since they rolled out the sleep stages. Then, suddenly, the last two nights, it tracked the old way. None of the scenarios apply, so I'm not sure what's going on.

Same thing here - basic sleep stages last night. Might be an issue at the Fitbit server end and not with our individual devices since several of us are reporting the same thing....

This isn't a one person problem anymore, you'll see many of us have this issue several nights in a row now. We've all tried these fixes it considered these potential causes and it's not working.

Seems a lot of people having this problem no matter what country they live in. That many people can't be making mistakes. I lost my sleep stage graph as well, a couple days ago. This is a revolving problem that changes w/o doing anything. Lots of people are spending time on phone to techs for help and mostly it isn't helping. That is because the problem is a FITBIT problem. I am going to do some checking around. Off again and on again may be the best we can expect from Fitbit. Need to find out about other tracking devices. Though I do like fitbit...that may not last much longer. This current lack of sleep stages may last days or weeks, there is no telling. if anyone asks me about Fitbit I tell them about the problems i am seeing on posts and also experiencing, which as to sleep stages is pretty universal! So I do not recommend it anymore.

None of those issues are a problem with my issue and I have the same issue everyone else is having, or I should say MANY people are having global wise. Your system is glitching and we either ride it out till we see things like they were a few days ago or we don't. So far it does this for awhile, the goes back to showing the sleep stages graph and I know I have done nothing other than wait it out! Don't change the way my tracker is fitted, don't change location, never touch the section with "sleep now" never had to, never thought to. Don't use a cell phone with it. Don't sleep less than 3 hours, keep the battery up 99% of the time. Must be doing good at keeping battery up, as fit bit hasn't had to tell me to charge it for a very long time.

Yes I thought that too. But since that upgrade in May, this issue has it lots of folks and it is off and on. I never change anything and I get good tracking with sleep stages for a few weeks, then I see the posts complaining about no sleep stages and I go check and sure enough I don't have sleep stages. I wait it out and don't waste my time calling the tech. I have reloaded the app once and that didn't change the problem that "revolve" from showing sleep stages to not showing them. Mine is for medical reasons and if I find another brand that has a good reliable track record and a good reliable sleep stage tracking I might try it. Fit bit may be trying to fix this and failing miserably at owning their own problems. That is the one thing I warn people about who are looking for watches that track their exercise. I never have problems that I notice with the step tracking. It is just the sleep stages that appear magically and disappear magically and reappear after a few days to a week. I never change the band fit, or anything that the moderator mentions might be a problem.

they don't seem to be able to admit that there is a recurring glitch in their system. yes sometimes people may be not wearing the band tight enough or having sleepless nights, and not charging regularly. But TOO many people are seeing the sleep stages appear and disappear over and over since that new system began. I went thru all the restart, reload app suggestions between May and July and in August I realized after see so many posts about this problem, that fit bit needs to fix it, not us. So I just ride out the days that I get no information and get what I need when the stages show. I am doing this w/doctor supervision due to a heart condition etc..
