Sleep stages....Possible solution/workaround.

I had this problem too. The time I slept was also wrong. I deleted the log, ignoring warning of lost data, and entered a new log with the correct time I went to sleep and the time I woke up. I then discovered unexpectedly that by doing so I now had the new detailed sleep info as well. I also discovered that this only works if you delete and re add the sleep logs in the app on your phone and not on the computer.

So for the last four nights I have seen the old sleep data after first sync in the morning. I have deleted the sleep logs (in the app not on PC). I then reentered the logs manually and synced again. All four nights now show correctly with the new detailed info.Screenshot before deleting.Screenshot before deleting.

Hope this helps.

Welcome to the Community @Andy_CC! I appreciate the screenshots you attached as well for the details that you mentioned in how you resolved this.

Fitbit is still investigating this issue as why sometimes sleep stages don't show up, even though you have all the requirements. You can learn more about this by checking this post with the latest updates.

Thanks for your understanding and patience.

@Andy_CCYour workaround is what I used to to do in March.. Since then I have had a perfect record of the new sleep record until last night.. Result the old record..

I have used your method to recover and that didn't work. I have broken the record up into smaller 4.0 hour segments and each showed more than 3 hours sleep. No good again.  The old record.

I deleted all of those, synced etc and created my normal sleep record on the phone... Still the old record..

Let's see what tomorrow brings.. I have restarted the Blaze 3 times in preparation.

My sleep stages have totally changed, I used to have the REM Cycle type stages and in the last two days it's changed back to the old version bar chart type... Any reason? It's not like I'm waiting for the update as I've had previous sleeps with it and now it's totally different, how did you get that changed?

I don't know what causes the old style to return but found by accident that if you delete the sleep log in the app and then re enter it manually the new sleep stages will show.

Last nights sleep has worked without any issues. I tried deleting and recreating yesterday's record but it still remains in the old format.

One day we will find out what causes that, maybe it's the way the Heart Rate Variability part of the algorithm assesses our sleep pattern.

Lets hope Fitbit come up with an answer because part of the heavy Mothers Day advertising here shows Fitbitters looking at the new sleep data on the phone.
