Sleep stages for Blaze

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just got a Blaze.  The sleep stages show no sleep stages.  Sleep pattern, hours slept and sleep schedule are showing.  How do I get the sleep stages?  I truly bought the fitbit to see REM since my Garmin wouldn't show this.  Thank you!!

Fitbit suggest there are a few reasons this can happen:

"WHY DON'T I SEE SLEEP STAGES TODAY?

There are a few scenarios where you might see your sleep pattern (which shows your time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your tracker from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your tracker higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your tracker to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your tracker’s battery is critically low."

There have been other threads about this.

It is a really random issue and fitbit don't seem interested.

I had read the post you mention a while ago. It really doesn't help.

I had tried all of these things and it made no difference.

The only thing that has worked for me is to not use the app to register my sleep. This has meant I've had sleep stages most nights since.

It still doesn't explain the randomness of this problem.

Whole on holiday my husband's fitbit registered sleep stages only in the nights that he had access to the Internet on the following day. Two days when he didn't have any Internet access he got the old system.

I had the opposite. The days I had Internet I didn't get sleep stages.

I also have 3 days of mixing sleep stages of i look at the app on my tablet and 4 days missing if Iaccess the app on my phone. I had no Internet access on my tablet for the 7 days we are away but got it most days in my phone.

Totally random!

Not explained in any way by the post you suggest.

@Mazco I think the post and linked help file certainly doesn't answer all the questions but it does explain some of what you are seeing.

It explains that if you use the app to log sleep you won't get sleep stages

It explains that your sleep stages are calculated when you sync so you need internet access for that

It also explains that some nights it just might struggle to get a good HR reading. It's difficult to rule this out given you are asleep at the time. In this sense the results may appear, as you say, totally random.
