Sleep stages not working on Blaze

I have the most up to date app and my iphone is up to date as well. Yesterday, my sleep stages tracked, but last night it did not. I've restared the Fitbit, the phone, installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled. Nothing worked. Any idea how to fix?

Same issue as me ... sleep stages worked for ten consecutive days then old way for a day; worked for one day; old way for two days; worked again for one day; last night's sleep no sleep stages 😞

I have an Alta HR that has been working for 9 days now. I did start wearing it one notch closer. I do not have all-day sync on. I DO have heart rate set to ON, rather than auto. I have not reset my Fitbit recently.

I've been having the same problem with my Blaze. I have seen sleep stages 4 times but on every other night I've had the old style.

I emailed Fitbit and have had various answers but I now have the best yet.

Yesterday I was told to make sure it was fully charged and wear it tight and in the right place. I actually made sure it was fully charged last night minutes before going to sleep and still nothing this morning.

However I woke to a new reply from Fitbit which solves everything.

Apparently, I need to  make sure I don't lie on my arm at any time during the night.

If I do that my heart rate won't register properly and I won't see sleep stages.

So for all of you who are struggling with this problem - it is solved.

Just lie awake all night making sure you don't lay on your tracker arm.

SORTED!!!!

I forgot to mention that my hubby is having the same problem with his Charge 2.

The answer from my little Fitbit helper is that the Charge hasn't had the update ruled out yet.

In not sure that explains the 4 random sleep stage recordings or the forum posts from other disgruntled Charge 2 owners in their forum.

Seriously  Fitbit, sorry yourselves out.

I have found that if I wrap my Fitbit securely with duct tape and then sleep hanging upside down like a bat, I get my sleep stages to work almost all of the time.

Why didn't I think of that?

More importantly why didn't Fitbit suggest that as the answer to all our problems?

Well done for the only sensible suggestion so far!

Did the software/firmware update work for anyone? It seems to have worked for me; I haven't had any issues since updating.

I only realised sleep stages existed when it randomly appeared for me 2 nights ago ( interestingly on my shortest night sleep ever when going on holiday, 3 hours ). Since then I've never seen it again, although It would be very useful.

I've tried setting heartbeat to on instead of auto, and restarted both my phone and blaze. I get constant heartbeat readings, so not sure why this isn't working anymore.

Any advice? Seems like many users are still seeing intermittent functionality. My firmware version is: 17.8.401.3

Mine did the same this morning too. It's been showing insights fine but today after over 8hours sleep it's gone back to displaying old version. Just seen there's an update in Google Play so will see if that fixes it.

Good idea regarding the update, although unfortunately with the new version of the app, still no sleep stages for me this morning.

It's being rolled out gradually and seems that some that have it already may have issues: see

Well I hoped after the update it would fix it, but again today it's old version of sleep tracked. Having skimmed through the other thread I can't see anything that I've done different. So I guess it's just a bug with the app or tracker?

I just got my Charge 2 Wednesday. It tracked my sleep Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday  but no stages. I just got on here to see if anyone else was having the same problem and it seems that they are. I guess I will just be patient as sleep stages is not the main reason I bought this thing.

I had the same issue.

Solved it by making sure latest app on phone, latest firmware on fitbit and then rebooting the fitbit.

It was the reboot that finally got it working last night for the first time. I have a Fitbit HR2 so had to connect to my laptop and hold the button for 15 seconds.

I am sure once you reboot it the issue will be resolved and you will see the sleep pattern working tomorrow after a nights sleep.

If that fails to work I noticed that fitbit advised they are still rolling it out. Seems they have segmented the users and are updating their customers in batches.

Hope that solves it. ; o )

Oddly last night it worked again after a week of old graph displaying. Will try the reboot tonight though, thanks for the tip!
