Small black quare

I see a very small black sqaure in the outer frame black of the device. What is the purpose of this square?

There is a small hole on the back of the Blaze that lets the tracker detect air pressure which is used to track floors.

Nope this one is on the screen. When i look closely, it feels as if there is a red light in it. But my battery is full.

Ah, I see it - at the top left of the screen? I think this is the ambient light sensor.
