@Crosbyfir welcome to the comunity.. Your Fitbit has an Skye meter to measure stairs climbed, this should it count steps? This requires your Fitbit to physically gain altitude. As you physically climb up a stairway the air pressure gets lower, this is what Fitbit is looking for. Let's go to the help document.
As for Spinning? Are you really walking, should it count steps? Your tracker is on your arm and looking at arm motions, without the arm moving not many steps will be recorded.. Your Blaze does have a Spinning mode, let's go back to the help documents. Using this mode will give a more relistic calorie burn.
