Step count inaccurate after update

After 17.8.301.7 update last night, looks like my step count is incorrect, it's counting a lot less steps and less floors. Anyone else having this problem?

Had this problem since the April update. Did this update cause the Blaze's that weren't affected by accuracy issues with the last update to have problems with this one?

I havent used my Blaze for weeks. Got tired of waiting for FitBit to fix the issue, so I sold my accessories and threw my Blaze in a drawer. I was hoping this update would fix the Blazes problems so I could finally sell the Blaze too. I guess not.

It's great to see you around @ficocr and @MikeS1971. If you are having inaccuracy inconveniences, I recommend restarting your Blaze and after the restart process do the following:

1. Put your wrist-based tracker on your wrist or put your clip-on tracker on your hip or torso.
2. Walk 100 steps, making sure to count a step each time one of your feet hits the ground.
3. Pause, then check your tracker to see your step count.

If you see that steps are really being inaccurate, get in touch with our support team. For a faster response you can contact them via phone or chat.

Let me know the outcome. Woman Happy

Floor count is even worse than step count after the latest update.  After having done 6 flights of stairs this morning, the Blaze registered only 3.  Then it got worse.  I did 30 minutes on the treadmill at a walking speed...flat surface, no inclince and it registered an additional 48 floors.  Fitbit tech needs to fix this problem ASAP.

I have the same issue with 17.8.301.7.  I noticed it enough to Google for it, and saw this post.

I just took 80 steps, but it only counted 46 of them.  My step counts have gone way down.  On the plus side, I'm having to walk more to get my "10000" a day, but I'd like it to reflect accurately.  I have everything turned off on my Blaze (no heart monitor, no bluetooth all day) and it is on my non-dominant hand.

I have the same issue.  Restarted the device, wear it on diff hands, walked as if I was in a marching band, nothing helped.  Step counts were still lower than the actual.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thought I would give my fitbit blaze another try. Walked 4.05 miles and fibit once again was way off regestering at 3.17. So very dissapointing. Nice new clock face but this is supposed to be a watch for fitness. I guess it will find its place back in the drawer! 200 dollars for nothing ! I really wish fitbit would fix this! Will not promote this watch to anyone. Will be honest when asked how this product is.

Between the Blaze still not being able to counts steps correctly and my parents and sons Charge HR's getting the firmware upgrade status bar of death, I'm just left speechless.

If youall take a quick search through these forums, you will see lots of people with the same complaint. Fitbit shows no interest in fixing it, but being vocal can't hurt.

Near as I can tell, it's caused by swinging your arms a lot, which is normal for speed walking and running. I also had a problem with my all day steps being undercounted because my fitbit thought I was on an elliptical all the time. I disabled the elliptical auto workout and somehow stopped swinging my arms so much and now it counts pretty accurately.

If you stop and start a lot, it won't count nearly as many steps, as it looks for a pattern of about 5 steps before it starts counting. So I find I get 0 steps when I walk across my kitchen 10 times, which is sad - I should at least be able to offset the reason I'm wandering around the kitchen.

I also find it undercounts when I walk around my house to make up the 250 steps/ hour (I'm a SLAVE), as I believe it has trouble with turning sharp corners and such. Maybe it sees that as stopping.

There's going to be a guy showing up pretty soon to tell us all about how his Blaze only undercounts 20 steps/ 1000, which is lovely for him.
