Steps, heart rate and GPS issues

Hi,

 

Couple of issues have started over the last few months:

 

  • Steps are not being counted. Measured and checked against either an iPhone, Charge HR or other make of pedometer. I am down on steps constantly with the Blaze with matched stride lengths on each device too I might add.
  • Heart rate recording seems to randomly stop displaying. Moving the Fitbit on my arm doesn’t help and I have to perform a shutdown and restart in order to get it working again. The heart rate option stays enabled in the app while this happens and the green lights still flashing. Other times the heart rate shows 120+ bpm when I’m sat still and then stops altogether displaying, again until restart.
  • GPS, when tracking excessive I have to start the app on the iPhone first in order to get the ‘lets go’ message. Ok, not the end of the works although I seem to recall not having to do that before. That aside I start off on my walk, run, ride and then find that the Blaze has lost connection to the phone (I presume) as the red phone icon with a line through is displayed on the Blaze, this is despite the phone being strapped to the same arm as the Blaze.

 

I have tried multiple restarts. Forgotten and re-paired with my phone. Tried another phone with all the above steps again but still get persistent issues with the Blaze. I'm normally fairly patient with tech and this is my 3rd Fitbit. But someone needs to help me out here as it’s just not working as it should, at all.

Thanks for troubleshooting these issues by yourself. I will be glad to help you out with this:

 

  • Steps: If you haven't measure your stride length information, I recommend trying that. Then, check how many steps you have and walk 100 steps, let me know how many the tracker registered.
  • Heart rate: In this post, you will be able to see some things that might be affecting this reading and some tips to improve it. Also, here are some other tips that you can try out.
  • GPS: If you are experiencing issues with this feature, I suggest checking the My Blaze GPS connected feature is not working post and follow the instructions provided there.
