Steps while Rocking in chair and pushing stroller

I just upgraded from the flex to the blaze yesterday. I notice with both that when I'm rocking my baby they both count the movement as steps. Anyone know the solution to this?

Also, with the flex it did not log my steps when pushing a stroller or shopping cart. Will the blaze recognize these steps?

In a rocket aonce your arm is moving up/down/back /forth yes you probably will get steps. 

Wroth the cartage since the arm is not moving up/down toy might not get steps

I spent some significant time pushing a stroller the other day at an amusement park and had the same question about step tracking while pushing a stroller. I monitored it for a little bit and indeed it wasn't picking up any steps. Unfortunately it seems that the Blaze doesn't track steps when pushing a stroller. 

As for the steps when rocking a baby, the biggest thing would be the sensitivity setting of the blaze and whether you are wearing it on your dominant wrist or not and whether you have correctly set the watch to dominant or non dominant wrist. Even then, since you are moving your arms consistently it may pick up steps. I have noticed that any movement that is close to the arm movement of walking will record steps. So for example weioght lifting will record steps even though you are not walking. I have even recorded steps while laying in bed or sitting down. It all depends on your arm movements. It does a good job at tracking steps while running or walking though since the arm movements are more defined. I'm sure they will continue to work on improving the accuracy of the step counting.

Is there a way to turn off the step counter while rocking the baby? If I use the activity tracker while pushing stoller will it be accurate?

I'm thinking I may return it.

Maybe and probably no for the dame but oppisite reason.

Right in the Blaze settings there is an option to turn the unit off. 

For stroller pushing. The Blaze needs to see proper arm motion to count steps, holding onto the handle may prevent this from happening. This wool be the case wroth any arm based tracker on the market. 

Ok so what's up,  well the easiest is to relics there will be times weber false steps are recorded and these times will offset when steps ate missed.

In my trsts comparing the arm mounted units to the body moonflower One they where close amd frequently switched possitions throughout the day. 

Personally i don't worry about it, if my normal routine doesn't change,  I'll get a relative reading from day to day..

The most accurate way I have found to turn off the step counter is by taking the watch off. 

As for the stroller, try a simple experiment to see for yourself how accurate the step counting is while pushing a stroller. It probably depends on how you push the stroller and your arm movements while doing so. Try a 100 step experiment and a 200 step experiment etc, while noticing step count from before and after. If it is off by a few steps then you are fine.
