Steps while using a walker

I've had a stroke and require a walker or walking poles or a wheel chair for mobility. My Fitbit Blaze does not track my steps when I am using my walker. I have been told Fitbit can track steps when pushing a shopping cart or baby carriage and I'm wondering if this is true? If it is true, is there a way to adjust either the app or the way I position my hands when using my walker that will track my steps? There is also a treadmill option, does this require swinging arms (ie. I require holding onto the rails for balance). I am also wondering about recumbent bikes rather than outdoor bikes. I would really like to be able to track my progress through physio therapy to gauge how my mobility and endurance are improving.

Welcome to the Community @SpankyBrockStar.

Your Blaze will register your steps depending on your arm movements. If it doesn't detect any movement it will hardly record your information. You can wear your tracker inside of a pocket if you really want to know how many steps you are doing. For more information check the help article How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?.

When I was using a walker I put it around my ankle to capture the steps

You might need an extender and you can search amazon for them
