Also, if you just bring your blaze on walks and aren't wearing it, do those steps not count towards your daily step count/7 day count/challenges??
Thanks!

When I walk my arms swing naturally. It will not count steps if you are hold on to something.
It should still count steps if you have it in your pocket. Wont be accurate. But they will go towards the daily total

If you add steps to your account manually (e.g., you forget your Fitbit on a walk and add them in via PC or app later) they do not count toward challenge totals.

It's not about swinging the arms but about keeping them free to vibrate as your feet fall. The problem with pushing anything on wheels is that your rm is held at a fixed distance from the ground so isn't free to rise and fall as your feet do.
Depends on what you are pushing and how smooth the surface is. My blaze counts my steps mowing the lawn and I promise my hands are fixed on the handle. I also get steps pushing a stroller on our greenway, but it has lots of little bumps.
If you push ANYTHING on a smooth surface like in a mall, Sam's Club, or other large store it will not feel the bumps and vibrations and will assume you are not walking so it will not count steps.

Walk without swinging your arms no steps.
If you go on the eliptical and push pull the handles no steps, walk a treadmill holding the handles no steps.
Swing your arms in a pendulum motion and you get steps.
I've found the swinging of the arms while on the eliptical or treadmill has a positive effect of improving your balance and strengthing your core.
So hit a home run and swing away.

Today while on the treadmill I activated the display, held my arm up and watched it count every step.

You can just swing your arms and not even walk and it will count! Especially if making a bed too. I have done nearly 1k this morning according to mine - and I've just sat eating breakfast! But when I make the bed it went mad! Disappointing.

I've also found that it counts steps when I'm crocheting, presumably from the movement my left arm makes when I'm feeding yarn to the other hand holding the hook. I could be sitting there for hours doing it and clock up a thousand or so steps.

I have decided to only wear it when doing exercise -eg walking and assume that my daily grind will knock up at leat 2,000 - traditional house work - hanging washing outside, making beds, vacuuming. It would be helpful if the designed a 'pause' button for crocheting etc!

I use a walker and it counts some of my steps but not all. I could put it in a little pocket at my waist. But that can't sense heart rate.

I have a walker and I wear my Fitbit on my ankle. It works except it's not convenient to use it as a watch.

Cool solution for getting your step count. You can read it on the app from your phone which will give you the time. Keep on walking and you'll have plenty of time.

I solved that by getting a larger wristband and wearing on my ankle. Works perfectly!
