Switching from Miles to Kilometers within Run mode

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi,

Within the advanced settings of the Fitbit app, i have kilometers selected for "length", however the secondary stat while in "run" mode is still displaying distance in miles.

Anyone else have this issue, or know of a solution?

Thanks!

Mike

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Clarkson_Runner. It's great to have you here. Please go to your Personal Settings and make sure that your height is set to "cm" and your weigh to "kg". In this way you should be getting your distance in kilometers. If you are still having the same issue after following the above please let me know.

Hope to see you around more often. Smiley Very Happy

Hi @EdsonFitbit - thanks for the quick response.

I have switched all of my settings to metric, including height and weight, but my "Run" distance is still being displayed in miles.

Let me know if you have any other ideas. Thanks again!

@Clarkson_Runner If you are still experiencing the same situation, please provide me with a screen shot of your Runs shown in miles.

Looking forward to your new comments. Cat Very Happy

I'm also having this issue - All my units are set to metric, but the display during a cycle is locked to mi/h. Looks like the Blaze doesn't look at the account settings for units... Just putting in my vote for a fix.

I also put in my vote for all fitness and electronic devices to default to metric if you're outside the USA. I mean... the device knows where it was first activated, so why not set the defaults to the countries standards? Very rarely do I see this on devices I use.

@mcrmama do you mean the "secondary stat" or the primary stat? My primary stat shows metric just fine - it's just he secondary stat that is locked to imperial. You configure the secondary stat by clicking on the "cog" symbol just before initiating a run/cycle.

Hey Everyone! Thank you so much for the details as well for tagging my dear friend @EdsonFitbit. I already filed a bug and as soon as I have more information, I'll post it here.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

You are right, I had not used distance for the secondary stay before. I did notice last time I used it that current pace did not seem correct but average pace was about what I was expecting so now I wonder if current pace was in miles. It was a little while ago when I checked it but is a thought that came to me now that may explain what I saw. I will have to test it again.

I saw this discussion since March, but no more update after Fitbit agreed this is a bug and going to fix. I just got my new Blaze, encountering same problem, I saw Miles under Run exercise both in primary and secondary display, is there any fix yet or do I missing something ?

Thanks

Just tested this - it's fixed since the time I posted the initial post in this thread, I'm not sure when.

You need to set your units appropriately in the advanced settings on your account.

App > Advanced Settings > Units > set appropriately. If you do that and they still don't show up properly... You have a different issue than I did at the start of this thread.

PS - thanks for fixing this Fitbit!

@Aaal this can also be changed through the web settings at https://www.fitbit.com/user/profile/edit

Thanks for your reply, I tried for several times, found changing from the Android mobile apps not work ...i.e. the apps shows KM but the blaze still in Miles.

However, after I changed the setting from Personal information in yuor web page with browser "Unit" "Length" to cm, it successfully changed my blaze to KM after sync.

Strange but it works now anyway 🙂

Thanks.

Maybe it is strange, but it is a documented bug.. So use the web, not the app.
