Quick question, do I need to carry my phone on my runs for it to sync on strava?

Hey there @Kellythemac! 🙂 Great to have you in the Community Forums!

To answer your question... It depends.

If don't really want to track your route while you run, walk or bike, you can only take your tracker, start the activity on it and start with it. Make sure to hit Finish when you're done and once you sync it to your phone, you'll see the activity record which should sync with Strava but will just sync the activity record, not your route.

Now, if you'd like to see a map of your route on Fitbit, you will need to take your phone with you as this is the way your tracker connects to GPS (through your phone), and once you're done, it will sync your information to Strava after syncing it to Fitbit.

Hope this answers your question. Anything else, let me know! 🙂

Thank you for your reply.
I'm not too bothered about route being displayed on Strava. The last couple runs did not sync with Strava when I had since tracker and phone?

Huh... I see...

What I can recommend at this point would be to revoke access to Strava and add your accounts again.

For this, follow the following instructions:

  1. Log in to your fitbit.com dashboard
  2. Click the gear icon on the top right corner
  3. Click "Settings"
  4. Click "Applications" on the left side
  5. Click "Revoke Access" under the "Fitbit + Strava" app
  6. Go to https://strava.fitbit.com/ and click "Connect" and follow the rest of the prompts to finish reconnecting your Fitbit and Strava accounts

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes and thanks for getting back!
