Quick question, do I need to carry my phone on my runs for it to sync on strava?

Hey there @Kellythemac! 🙂 Great to have you in the Community Forums!
To answer your question... It depends.
If don't really want to track your route while you run, walk or bike, you can only take your tracker, start the activity on it and start with it. Make sure to hit Finish when you're done and once you sync it to your phone, you'll see the activity record which should sync with Strava but will just sync the activity record, not your route.
Now, if you'd like to see a map of your route on Fitbit, you will need to take your phone with you as this is the way your tracker connects to GPS (through your phone), and once you're done, it will sync your information to Strava after syncing it to Fitbit.
