I have searched for an answer and played around and have found only one way to change time zone on a Blaze: go to www.fitbit.com, click on the Settings gear, scroll down to the bottom, and change the timezone manually.
I can't find a way to change the time zone manually on my iPhone. It's been a while, but when I had a Charge HR I could have sworn its time zone changed when the iPhone's time zone changed.
I can access the web site via my iPhone and make changes manually but that seems old school. When I land in a new city, my iPhone's time zone changes automatically. Why can't the Fitbit app "tell the time" from the iPhone automatically vs. requiring me to manually access a web site and manually making a change?

I had tried that multiple times but my fix was to register myself as a new account and sync with Melbourne recognised as location!

See the response from Compass29. The only way that I've managed to get this to work is to change the timezone in your profile on the Fitbit website, and then sync.
I've returned to using a regular watch for daily use rather than my Fitbit since this feature doesn't work, and I travel across time zones frequently. I'm now shopping for a smartwatch that isn't a fitbit to get the features that I want and that work.

well interestingly when traveling to the US this autumn my blaze decided to work correctly when moving across time zones in both directions (I had taken a normal watch with me this time just in case!). The only obvious difference was that I had updated my windows 10 phone to the MS autumn OS release.
Now come on Fitbit you just need to remove the necessity of an internet connection to allow control of the device and I would accept the blaze works correctly.

Same for me. I recently was on vacation and travelled through several time zones. I spent hours trying to figure out how to update the time zones as I travelled. I tried rebooting my Blaze, rebooting my phone, turned continuous sync on, then off, turning Bluetooth on and off, tried manually setting time zone on my phone, etc., etc.
The only way I have successfully changed the time zone is when my Blaze is tethered to my desktop computer -- which I obviously don't travel with 🙂
I was able to successfully move through time zones with my previous devices (Alta and Flex).

Sadly, due to the total lack of response from Fitbit to this problem, which becomes quite an issue when you travel as often as I do I have switched away from Fitbit completely My Samsung Gear switches time zone as soon as my phone changes - usually within seconds of it finding a roaming phone signal. When you are using this type of device as much as a watch as a fitness monitor, showing the right time is quite important!!

I am now back from latest trip for a week…
But still my fitbit has 7 hour time difference…
And I get a wake-up call at 2PM! 😊

I have changed the time zone on my iPhone and on my computer but I cannot get the computer to sync with the Blaze and although my phone syncs with the Blaze the time zone is not updating. what can I do to ge the watch function to reflect current time zone

try this; in the fitbit app on your phone go to advanced settings and change the fitbit timezone manually. I had huge problems until th 2017 Autumn Windows 10 update. Since then I've found the Blaze livable with (but NOT WHAT IT SHOULD BE FITBIT!).

I can't believe this thread is 2+ years old and this is not yet fixed.
I just bought a Versa last month (I live in CST) and traveled to a different TZ (EST) for the first time. In my app, the Advanced Setting is set to Automatic and indeed it shows my new TZ right underneath the "Set Automatically" setting. However no amount of syncing sets the time on my watch correctly, it remained CST
Then, I went into the fitbit.com website, where in the Settings there is _NO_ automatic setting!! But when I change the TZ there to a new timezone (EST), and do a watch sync, my watch changes over correctly.
As a test, I then went to the _app_ again and unchecked "Set Automatically", and manually set my TZ back to "CST" (even while my phone and I are in EST), the watch remained in EST even after a sync.
My conclusion based on my testing: The watch's timezone is _only_ influenced by the fitbit.com website setting (which does not have an "automatic" setting) and completely disregards the iOS app's setting, whether automatic or manual.

That's correct @Leto75 since the desktop computer generally does not travel with the user, and most laptops don't have an auto timezone setting, it would be useless to have an auto setting on the computer.
Your phone is a different story in that it dies have the ability to change timezones. The Fitbit app on the phone also has a manual setting.
People in this Blaze hardware thread are reporting a promblem with their phone app, but most seem to be afraid to mention the type of phone. This does not help Fitbit in knowing if the problem is limited to only one or more phone operating systems.

I would argue that setting a tz on the laptop also doesn't make sense. If you've noticed, GMail doesn't have a timezone setting, it just follows the OS's timezone. So in that sense it's automatic.
What is definitely not correct is that my traveling fitbit only adheres to (static?) website setting.

Yes @Leto75 I did mention that the Fitbit app could read the computers time.
When syncing through the phone, with auto timezone enabled, the time on the tracker is supposed to follow the phone as it has changed. I live a 5 hour drive from the nearest timezone border but in the past this auto adjustment has caused problems when singing near midnight. This tells me that this feature has worked for at these that found it has caused problems. Others have mentioned that when the clock is set back the first hour gets rewrote over the second hour. Yes the user day might have been 25 or more hours, Fitbit recorded the day as only 24 hours

Ok -- this coming weekend I am flying back from Asia to Europe.
I have checked all the settings, and it should automatically update the time zone.
Will let you know if it is alright now.

For the time to change, the tracker will need to sync with the Fitbit's cloud services.

Hi Rich - Promised to get back to you on this. I landed from Taipei in Amsterdam on Sunday morning around 7AM.
Synchronized several times my Fitbit with my smartphone, that was already on the new time zone.
However, the whole morning the Fitbit stayed on Taiwan time.
Only in the afternoon, all of a sudden the time was changed to CET.
So, for unexplainable reason it did not adjust immediately, but compared to me flying to the USA a month ago, it did not take days either.
What surprises me is that it does not happen automatically and immediately upon sync when my phone is on a new time zone.

I'll glad to assist you with this. It is really odd that time zone did change automatically before and now it doesn't.
First, it is very important to make sure that the phone you're using is compatible as some features may not work properly if it isn't a compatible device. You may get to sync but other features may not work as they should.
If you have a supported device, I'd like to suggest to:
1. Restart your phone
3. Make sure your phone has turned on the setting to automatically change its time zone
4. Check that the app also has the setting to detect timezone automatically. You can check on this setting by going to account > advanced settings > toggle Automatic Time Zone ON
If the issues to update automatically the time zone continue after checking on this specifications and steps, don't hesitate to reach back, we'll be glad to further check on this.
