Too many calendar notifications

On my Fitbit Blaze I have my Apple Calendar linked up for notifications. Except that I'll get 6 notifications for the same calendar event!! I really only need the one. My text and call notifications are normal and don't repeat. And I don't have a repeat notification setting on my phone so I can't figure out how to make them stop. It's like 1 every minutes for 5 minutes. And sometimes I'll still get notified an hour into the event!!
It's becoming quite annoying! Help!

@DaniF93, I have experienced the same thing to some extent. If I don't dismiss the event on my phone, it reminds me an hour into the event. Maybe try dismissing on your phone?

I feel like that defeats the purpose of the notifications. I didnt want to have to go to my phone all the time.

As the phone is the source of the notifications, it makes sense that only the phone can cancel them. As with the text alerts, the link to the Blaze is one-way only as far as I know. The Blaze can only do what it's told I'm afraid.
