Everything else seems to be working except tracking time slept.  Worked fine until three days ago.  Help!

I'm having a similar problem. As of July 1st, I'm only getting basic sleep details.

Exactly what happened to me, everything else working fine. But no sleep logged since Thursday. Hard reset and no difference. Hopefully there is a solution as this is the main element I use.

My blaze is doing the same, only giving basic sleep pattern.  Tried resetting, still not working properly.   Does anyone have a solution for this?  Thank you

Hi

So I contacted Fitbit directly through their support - they said that I should just manually track it. This didnt suit me. I also noticed the heart rate monitor had stopped and it no longer flashed green on the underneath. Therefore it was a hardware issue. Since I was in 2 years and had the receipt they have offerered a replacement or 50% off a different model.

This is BS. One of the main benefits of the Blaze is the sleep tracker! Mine worked fine until the end of the last week when the new update came out. Same as this group. Tracking it manually doesn’t give you all the different readings.

I wrote directly to Fitbit. Do you suppose they will respond and help us?

I don’t know if they will or not but if you do get an answer and solution please share. This is very frustrating and I am contemplating making a change if it doesn’t track sleep anymore.

>From what I have seen on the Fitbit community, this has been an issue for a while. I hope they would help and offer a replacement. My Blaze is not even 2 years old, it doesn't seem right that you would have to replace it so soon. Please keep me posted.

I had the fitbit charge and had similar problems, so I upgraded to the Blaze and having the same issue. If they don't resolve the issue I am going to go with a different brand. My Blaze is less then 2 years old.

Agreed. The sleep tracking is a huge benefit for me and it worked fine up until the update last week. If they don’t fix it I am changing brands as well. It would be a bummer. I have used Fitbit for 6 years but frustrated with all of their challenges

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @GrandmaNoble, @AK407, @HappyHammer85@debski, @CashClaridge! I apologize for the delayed response and will be happy to assist you with your sleep inquiry.

Thank you for your feedback and comments. If your sleep is not registering at all:

1. Manually sync the tracker. See instructions in How do Fitbit trackers sync their data?
2. Restart the tracker. See instructions in How do I restart my tracker?
3. Try sleeping with the tracker on your non-dominant hand.

There are a few scenarios where you might see your sleep pattern (which shows your time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

So weird. Last two days mine did the same thing, only I checked the heart rate and there were no gaps, so there was no apparent reason (battery fine, heart rate detected). Mine also said I slept from midnight to 6:30 and got 12 hours of sleep one night and 22:35-6:37 and got 14+ hours, so something was definitely fouled up in the software.

This morning, I deleted the two sleep periods and manually added them (using the times from the basic details), and it gave me the detailed data like magic. weird. (I deleted on the app and added on the website.)

I also noticed that I had basic details for July 22, so I deleted and re-added for that date, and that also worked. So if you check and you do have heart rate details in the app for the period that is showing basic details, try deleting and re-adding and see if that works.

Obviously a workaround rather than a fix, but at least you'll have the data.
