Tracking steps while driving

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I am a truck driver. I am trying to walk more, hence I bought the Blaze. It is tracking steps while I'm driving. I have been up for 4 hours and apparently have walked 3400+ steps.... very inaccurate

Welcome to the Community @Wolfrider. If your tracker is registering steps while you are driving, you have to options to negate that extra information.

1. Download the app "DriveBit"

2. Manually logging the activity "Driving" by doing the following from your Android Fitbit app:

    1. Tap the exercise tile.
    2. Tap the timer in the top right corner; this will take you to the Mobile Run screen.
    3. Tap "Log" at the top of the screen.
    4. Log your activity.

Let me know if you need anything else. Woman Happy

I have not been able to find an app called "drivebit". Do you have a link for the app?

The Fitbit app and website provides all users, regardless of phone type, a way to cancel all steps for a period of time. Just manually enter a "Driving" activity with start time and duration the same as your drive. That's it, pretty simple. The Driving activity will cancel all steps for the period of time you specify.

If I drove for a living, i would find it very aggravating to have to manually adjust data on a daily basis.  It's one thing to do it now and then, but all the time?  There should be a better option :).

I wish it had the option to start and stop it from the fitbit. But oh well. Maybe they will come out with something for those who drive a lot. Luckily i can look at my logs and add it that way

Hello @Wolfrider currently Drivebit is only available for iOS users, but as @bbarrera mentioned you can achieve the same results by logging Driving on your Fitbit account, for further information  about logging a driving activity please review @MariamV's post @Wolfrider that would be a great option to have on your Fitbit tracker and this has been suggested on the Feature Request board, take a moment to review the idea: Add "Driving Mode" Feature to avoid erroneous steps/floors. Vote for it and add your comments, the more votes it gets more opportunities it has to be noticed by our developers.

Let me know if you have any questions! 🙂

I was running drive it on android a year ago, long before it was on iOS.. I'm not sure why the developer removed it from the play store but it can be found in the Amazon store for android. It can also be found here to side load
